We stayed in Traffic Inn and Flipflop on different days. To compare both of them in details: 1) Rooms- Traffic Inn definitely spacious and bigger. Better sound-proofed wall than Flipflop. In FF, u can even hear the next door toilet flushing sound. 2. Bathroom- In TI, it's separated dry and wet area, provides toiletries. In FF, it's very small, weird smell but still clean, don't even provide refillable toiletries. 3. Rooms facilities- TI has big table, mirror hang on the wall, bright lighting.
all reviews » We were really grateful to the most helpful staffs in answering all our queries before we even reach the place. They even assist us to purchase the train tickets with small fee charges. Our special thanks to Yuki for showing us the direction to the mosque (as she called as muslim church) as it was near to her house as she said. We dont get the chance to bid goodbye to her personally as she was not on duty on that day. The location was also walking distance to bus & subway stations. Most of . Great value for money. Rooms and even the shared bathrooms were clean. Staff speaks English well and are very friendly, helpful and informative; available anytime as Traffic Inn Hostel has a 24-hour reception. We used their assistance for airport transfer twice [80RMB] for a late night pick-up and a very early morning drop-off and found it to be reliable. We had our luggage stored at the hostel whilst we visited Jiuzhaigou. Good central location as Xinnanmen Passenger Station is just around th. Location is excellent as it is just beside one of the main bus station in Chengdu, which allow transition to many other destinations such as JiuZhai Valley, KangDing, Mt. Emei etc. Save the hassle to make ways to the bus station early in the morning, as most of the long distance destinations are schedule early every morning. Quiet and spacious environment. Rooms are bigger compare to other youth hostels. 24 hrs reception, very helpful staffs that able to communicate in English, provides toiletr. Service minded staff, some English speaking very well, good tour to Panda Center (van with driver/guide). Took the express bus to Leshan Gigant Budda (taxi from bus station in Leshan), recommended! Good restaurants very close by (chinese, excellent thai). Superb location, just next to Xinnanmen bus station (from where the buses depart to Panda Research Center - No 60, Emei Shan, Leshan) Our room (double room) was actually in the same building as nearby Traffic Hotel - basically the same comfort. The staff speaks good English and can help you with tours and recommendations. They provide free city map. Via hotel you can use elevator. We loved it. It is a hostel, so it's not a 4 star hotel--but we didn't want to leave. It was very clean, and a fun ambiance to it, with billiards, board games, etc. They had great food too, and we ate almost every meal at the hostel. It was also right by a nice lit river and right by the bus station that can take you to Mt Emei or Leshan, etc. We really liked the Traffic Inn. Perfect location, near to the Airport Shuttle, local bus to panda research center and close to the one of Chengdu's bus stations (easy to catch a bus to Leshan), friendly and English-speaking staff. Perfect location at the city centre, near the bus stops for the airport and Emei/Leshan. Staff is friendly and restaurant produces a wide variety of dishes. 1) responsive and very helpful staff 2) all the information you could possibly want 3) not giving you the feeling that you have to join one of their tours. Wifi- TI wifi service definitely needs a huge upgrade as it's very slow and inefficient. FF wifi is excellent. 2. Building appearance- TI needs major painting job with the building as most corners are full of dust and lichen. We only stayed for 1 night and nothing that we can complaint about. Not a thing. Wifi very slow and some website was unable to load at all. This same website has no problem to access at all in other youth hostels. The claim that facebook is accessible in this hostel is deceptive and misleading. NO! You can't access facebook using Wifi nor with the hostel computers. Restaurant food taste crappy and expensive, most likely because it's prepared by the young staffs. The building looked very ugly/worn from outside, but the interior was a positive surprise! Most of the furniture in breakfast /dining room was not very suitable for meals, better for relaxing and a drink. Internet in room was on the edge, but worked well in corridor. Nothing. My room doesn't have en suite bathroom. leaving :(. Little bit noisy in the morning. nothing. A bit of a walk from other sightseeing spots in the city, but you can take a bus or cab. tissue is less. Every thing was fine. Nothing really - I had a great experience and I'd highly recommend it. Smoking in the hostel. People smoking on the public toilet. The location isn't really central located. Yes, the bus station beside the hostel. But, some attractions need other mode of transport (subway 15-25 minutes by walking). We stayed in a twin room with shared bathrooms and toilets. The staff we met were not very polite, appeared impatient and aloof to us chinese. Not friendly but still trying to be helpful though. Not very nice .. No dresser to store stuffs WiFi is not strong. Very noisy. Don't like: 1. Far from metro station and local bus station 2. Difficult to locate especially coming from airport. furnishing is getting old but basic are still in good condition. Staff are not very happy n welcoming look,seems getting tired of answering tourist. However they were still helpful.
