We stayed in a double room with Ensuite. The room was spacious, the bed large and the bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water. Decoration was to a high standard and the hostel was very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Reasonable prices at the bar. Extremely close to the metro - though it is still hard to find - left from exit d and turn all the way around, it has a uhotel sign. Decent wifi.
all reviews » It is just next to the Dongxi Station exit for line 5 & line 6. A supermarket nearby, and walk a bit to the lane, you can find some nice restaurant to have cheap local Beijing Food. Safe even I was back from HuTong around 11.30pm. Staff are nice to offer help, as I was depart on a rainy day, with materials I have to protect for client meeting. They offered me a big plastic bag to protect my stuff. Positively surprised about the value we got for a relatively low price (compared to other hotels around): clean room in a quite new hotel, a very friendly and english speaking reception lady, and a very good location (right next to subway, walking distance to forbidden city). Would definitely go again!. The hotel is really a good choice, very friendly staff and well located near forbidden city. They offer a wide range of good western food, e.g. the breakfast is great. You can sit in the lobby on nice sofas and it is very comfortable. Furthermore, the staff is very helpful and friendly. for the price you cant beat it. staff speaks english very well. the bed is the mos comfortable you will find at the price. decent great wall tours. food is good enough. location cant be beat, literally next to subway. they were very helpful getting me a train ticket. The staff is really good. I learend to appreciate English speaking staff as this is not common. The reastaurant offers a nice range of dishes but is not up to the best taste yet. Bedroom larger than other hostel n the locker inside is big enough for a handcarry luggage. Very close to the MTR, just 1min walk to the station. Overall quite comfortable. The staffs were very helpful and can speaks english well, plus a cute staff there name Ping ;)..steps away from Dongsi station and the wifi is fast at lobby. 24H McD is just across the street. The juice in the bar is not juice in the way we know it, orange juice is long life, the rest seems to be squash. Everything else was REALLY good, it is hotel standard. The wifi doesn't work well in room. Hot water took forever to arrive. Shower tends to wet the whole bathroom floor. What I did not like was 1) the rooms are not very friendly or comfortable 2) the bathroom smelled maybe due to the tubes 3) there were some hairs in our shower. -they dont have a working credit card machine. Price for hot beverage is too high. Also the tour offered by the front desk is too expensive. You can get the same w/o breakfast and lunch for 100¥ P.P. If you want to spend 500+¥ rather take a private tour which you can get for 500 or less. No group, no rush. The bar is not so popular and the price they charged quite high compared to other hostel. Nothing to dislike except my room for the first night was not available due to I landed at 2am. There is nothing to not like. Internet in room too slow and intermittent, even in lobby not too good. Good enough for email, chat, limited for surfing a lot. - Not every room has a window. - Beds are a bit hard, but so it is in this price range. The walls were paper thin; you could here people's conversations in the next room and it made it easy for broken sleep. Lack of real windows. Room is really small, but it is OK if you just stay overnight there. I was trying to change our kettle because inside the kettle got some rusty, but one of the staff gave an excuse, blaming this was made by westerner traveller that like to make coffee. Note: For hotel you must take exit G from metro line 6 and exit D from metro line 5. So don't look for exit D on metro line 6 as you won't find. Thin walls and only box spring mattresses for beds (these are issues with all Chinese hotels). No real window in our room, was blind wall with all AC equipment and no daylight. Everything is pricey in Beijing so the price of the hostel was in line with that. Tour bookings always failed to be delivered on due date, but for us staying 15 nights this was fortunately no issue. Program tour is more expensive than other hostel around and get less than tourist place. There is a fried food smell in my room. Bad ventilation in toilet. little room, the window had a view on neighbour building wall. shower wets the toilet and floor. hard hard beds. restaurant makes mistakes. in general:rickshaw drivers, people trying to cheat you, overcrowding and temples/attractions closing and staff not knowing it. our bathroom was blocked so it was impossible to take a shower (double room); the meal was not that good for the price they ask for, our frinds and us didn't have a window with a view... just the building on the back. No place to hang-up stuff on the shower, shower was broken, no place to take a shower after check-out, meals relatively expensive, slow internet. Room bit small and misty smell.
