The place is family owned and operated. Very nice people. Very close to public transportation,and walking distance to many stores and places to eat. Sky train is about a 5 minute walk away. And you can take it straight into Vancouver for about 2.75$ each. Neighborhood felt safe and was clean. Price of room was great for area.Wi-fi. Location was very convenient, walking distance from plenty of restaurants as well as grocery stores and public transit. Excellent service. They provided us maps and directions to get around the city. much nicer then expected for the price and given that it is a motel.
all reviews » I like everything was organize and the service and any time you need help there is somebody on the front disk. Like their kitchenette. Fair price, kind staff, free parking, free wi-fi, space heaters brought yo our room, big room which comfortably slept six. Low price, bed was comfortable if the room didn't smell that bad, I would have given excellent reviews. The location was central and a good price for a family if your on a budget. The price is very good. The location is good too. The rooms were clean and spacious. Quiet, large clean room. Close to evrything. The kitchens are good for cooking when staying a little longer. It's pretty close to downtown Vancouver. The location is very convienet for eatery, there is variet of restaurants with in walking distance. everything is dirty in the motel and poor beds not comfortable and I have not receive my money back for 1 night poor staff. Staff was really nice. Corner room. Air condictioning was outdated in wall unit. No elavator.So you have to drag your bags up and down the staires yourself. Very very basic amenities. Electric system is old nob and tube. (Fire concern to me) Was afraid to hook up anything. And not many availible outlets to recharge things. (phones,ipad,etc) And Wi-fi is intermitent and really only works in room. only one think I didn't like when you go out said you looks your self like you are in china not in city of Canada. Parking lots are small for Vans and SUVs. rooms were poorly maintained. Facility seemed unclean. The table in the room was dilapidated, cracked, and broken. No heat, only space heaters- room was cold when we arrived. No sheets on pull out bed. The room smelled so bad. Very musty, moldy, and unplesant smells. The parking was tight the pictures on the Internet were deceiving. I have to be honest I would not stay in palms motel again. The building is quite old. No heating and baseboard does not work. But the staff provided me with a heater which is good. As a kitchenette. could have been more equipment, etc. supplied. And the telephones either didn't work or didn't exist. No nighttable working lamps, as wall outlets exposed and damaged on one side, didn't bother getting out of bed to find problem on other side. The tv is outdated, sound started quiet and eventually, it will become loud.. It's all fairly old and run-down. Seemed to be okay clean, but we didn't feel too cozy. The dishes very dirty, furniture's old, and the location is kind of run down. The carpet has bad odor,and the room could be cleaner, they did'nt even provide any shampoo or soap and hair dryer and coffee,which most of other facilties do. Most of all I would not stay at this motel in the future. Very old and dirty. Ac was just beside the bed that make hum in the wall and bed and you can't sleep, no napkin, smelly fridge, no extra pillows,no shampoo, no wash basen whole protector. Not very clean lots of stuff did not work in the room. The doorknob of the room is broje. We ourselves fixed it. One of the bathroom lghts is busted and the light by the kitchen sink is missing. The bathroom needs thourough cleaning it us filthy. I booked 2 queen beds and I got 2 double beds. Tha manager said those are their queens. It was misleading. the smell of the room was pleasant for pets only. Toilet flush was malfunctioning. Only one outlet to charge your devices and at the same time watch tv. No elevators. Parking is a security risk. Although there was a camera, some areas were not covered. No Internet No Kleenex No shampoo Dirty Horrible Rated less than 1.
