Very friendly staff at check-in and very organized. This was my second stay at the Intercontinental, the first time I stayed in the penthouse suite at the top for a wedding. This time I returned with my boyfriend and we were upgraded to one of the new rooms with a direct view of the CN tower and Ripleys Aquarium which was beautiful. We greatly appreciated that gesture. We received great guidance from a man at the concierge desk for good restaurants nearby and ended up really enjoying our experi.
all reviews » The hotel is spotlessly clean and staff are very helpful, especially Todd from the Intercontinental Club. I highly recommend the Club for its excellent business facilities and the tasty snacks. The room was overlooking the CN tower, the bed was very comfortable and the selection of pillows was excellent. The swimming pool and the spa are very nice. This hotel is perfect for a city trip, it is very clean, and quiet. You are located about a five-ten minute walk to the Rogers Centre or ACC, with alot of restaurants across the road. You are also a fifteen minute walk to the Eaton Centre or a $10 cab ride away. I would highly recommend this hotel for the value, proximity, and luxurious rooms. Bed, and pillows were comfortable. We had a 3 month old, and were given a room with 2 double beds, so she was able to be on one with pillows around her.....much appreciated!! Great view out the south side towards Rogers Centre/CN Tower etc.... Shower was very nice, and linens were nice and clean and big!!. The staff were very courteous to us and our stay was very relaxing. The newly renovated rooms were modern, yet very comfortable. We will stay here again and hope others enjoy this hotel as much as we did. We liked that we were offered a free upgrade to our room since we were returning clients. The 10 dollar breakfast buffet right in the hotel restaurant is a great value and convenient. -Comfortable facilities made a great impression - Hotel is located at the city center of downtown Toronto, very convenient -Pool&Spa areas kept very clean and tidy. We especially liked the close proximity to major areas of Downtown Toronto. We walked miles and saw alot. It was also a safe area when walking later at night. Room w/fridge and safe, +big! Unfortunately the windows do open anywhere. I developed a bad allergy of my eyes and my breathing was affected as well. The hotel is near lots of building sites and the new high storey buildings which made me feel sorry for their inhabitants as the ventilation is all artificial. Minor issue, but there was a hole in the sheet on our one double bed, and an orange peel on the floor......maintenance just needs to be kept up better. Missed having a coffee maker in the room.....the Kuerig just doesn't cut it!!. We could hear what our neighbours are few suites down the hall were doing...from our own room. Sound-proofing could be beneficial but the loud guests were extremely loud. The cost of the parking was 4 dollars more than was listed on our confirmation print out. -Housekeeping started to bang on our door at 8:20 am and woke up me and my partner -Check-in/Check-out processes were very unprofessional, we were not asked basic questions like:"how was your stay with us", or " would you like to use some help with your luggage". No eye contact. My floor's ice machine died my first of 5 nites, and was never repaired or replaced. TV was totally out for 5-6 hours 1 day. My phone continued to signal a message when there was none. Nothing!. The sound-proofing! We couldn't sleep the first night due to the constant noise, so we had to change rooms. It was handled well by the staff. Ask for a room away from the lifts, and without an interconnecting door!. Cost of Valet parking was extremely costly. Nothing really except free wifi was not available and as we use the Internet intermittently the 24hour charge was not suitable and too pricey. location of parking was confusing to find. Minibar was not restocked during cleaning and options were not to my liking (i.e. only one Canadian). Property under some construction. The upper level rooms not available. Expensive valet. Self park was not easy nor convenient. I think the price was high, I payed more than a lot of people I spoke with, that is the only thing that would stop me from coming back,. Parking is expensive which is the norm for a big city. Don't have to like it though. Bathtub is very small. No heater in bathroom makes it cold getting in and out of shower. Room service menu & fees are very expensive. Parking garage was somewhat confusing. More signage. The fact that you can get free wifi at even a Tim Hortons but you have to pay for it here on top of the expensive rate was a little ridiculous. I found the price was high and did not offer a seniors discount. The mattress was not very good quality. There were no power outlets near the bed for me to plug in my phone overnight. Additional charge for Wi-Fi $15 / day plus taxes! Why? Hotel was in the midst of a refurbishment in floors above . Very noisy (jackhammers removing floor tiles) Mon-Sat inclusive from 9 'till 6. No advance notice from hotel other than a printed memo at reception stating that a hotel "refresh" would be in progress during our stay when we checked-in, or much of an a apology for the inconvenience. Unable to book a massage that night. They were renovating the bar/dining room area It closed at ten o'clock so returning from the theatre you couldn't go to the bar for a night cap. Had to call room service. Guest should have been notified ahead of booking. Hotel breakfast very busy understaffed ,poor service on the buffet,items not being topped up in a timely manner. Plates not being picked up from our table . No service to replace coffee or tea. Very disappointing for the cost of breakfast. Check in was slow and no signs to say where things were. Restaurant downstairs not open late. .. not impressed with the extra charge for internet and The room should have a fridge and microwave when one considers the total cost to stay... Free WiFi should be included. Would prefer all disposable glasses and shower caps provided. After hours food was not good. Only one of the club intercontinental wasn't friendly at all . She made me feel completely umcomfortAble. No club members beverages and drink No social bar No night club No comfortable smoking area. their bar/lounge/restaurant. Price. I have food allergies, room service did not know of allergens and did not check. Hall outside room had towels on carpet huge fans blowing. Foul smell. The receptionist had really bad attitude. I was on my trip looking forward for a good stay but they gave me terrible attitudes. I would not stay in toronto intercontinental anymore.
