What people say
The hotel was very centrally located and our room exceeded our expectations by far as it was very recently updated with beautiful finishings, a very modern bathroom and very comfortable bed. The room included microwave and refrigerator with nice television. Everything was very new. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with locating things nearby. Parking is available a block away for $16 per day in the City Hall parking ramp. The one way streets were a bit tricky, but the staff dr. all reviews »
This is a delightful place right in the heart of Vieux-Quebec. My room
was quite small but comfortable, with plenty of storage space. You need
to be able to deal with stairs, but the staff are very obliging helping
with luggage. Free coffee is available at breakfast time, and there is a
discount arrangement for breakfast in a nearby cafe. I found it an
excellent base for a few days' stay.
We were very pleased. Our rooms were clean, beautifully appointed, reasonably priced, comfortable beds. WE also greatly appreciated the old world charm that simply cannot be found in a newer chain type of hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Located in the heart of Quebec City made it easy to navigate the area and enjoy all the sites. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Through letsbookhotel.com we were able to change the dates and to ask for a
bigger room, as our son joined us. The letsbookhotel.com staff was very
helpful and the hotel staff was very accomodating. I was very impressed
with that service. We were very pleased with everything.....to bad they
do not offer brakfast.
This hotel was perfect for our honeymoon. There is nothing like this in Japan. It had such a great victorian feel and was in a great location to be able to quickly walk to all the sights. Also the staff were super friendly and understanding. My pregnant wife was so grateful for everything they did.
The location is excellent. You are some steps far from the Chateau and
the Funiculaire and also you have many restaurants around you. The rooms
are super clean and confortable. The Owner of the hotel is kind and
provide you with all info about the city. Perfect!.
Excellent location, away from the main street, but within walking distance to everything. Staff was VERY pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Its an older hotel but very quaint and traditional. The owner was onsite all the time.
Lots of charm in the heart of romantic Quebec, close to everything. Lovely room overlooking the mountains. It was kind of a waste of time to sleep, it was so nice! Great hosts, very friendly.
Great location. Convenient to attractions, museums, heart of old city,
citadel. Discount for breakfast at a nice restaurant just down the
street; walking distance. Liked victorian furniture.
The central location - we could walk to almost anywhere of interest.
Room was spacious and clean, with overlook on mountains very appealing.
Gracious owner. The hotel oozes charm of yore.
The house has been furnished beautifully both in the older and the refurbished parts. Great friendly service from reception, bang in the middle of the City so walked everywhere, all good!.
thank you to the Hotel for getting some things scanned and sent to me. Helpful staff, great location and was good to have that cup of coffee in the morning.
We took the king size room.
Beautiful hotel. Great staff.
Bathroom look brand new with a nice big shower. We really enjoy our stay. Would go back anytime.
The location and the room were fabulous. Right in the heart of the old city. The room was period 1890. Fantastic. But with all the mod cons.
Excellent location. Kitchen facilities available on a shared basis including large fridge and food preparation area. Spacious room.
old historic hotel in old city of Quebec, great walking and views in old city, friendly helpful staff, good price,.
The location was absolutely perfect. The staff was very friendly. The building was quite pretty and old.
Staff was really great, a bit-old fashionned environment in the center of Old-Quebec, with a lot of charm.
The quaintness and European-like charm which is what we were looking for
when visiting "Vieux Quebec"!.
The location is great. People who work there are very friendly and decoration inside is beautiful.
Great location. Room nicely renovated. Reasonable priced. Close parking. Excellent experience!.
Room very clean, position fantastic, staff helpful and very friendly, internet connection good.
Location-- easy walk to all old Quebec City sites. Good price, friendly & capable staff.
Great location right in Old Quebec near the Chateau Frontenac.
Prices are very reasonable.
loved the antiques, fairly quiet during the night, beautiful old building well maintained.
Friendly and helpful staff
welcome
quaint and fun antique style
shower.
I loved this hotel and will stay there again. It is an awesome place.
Central location in Quebec City, access to major attractions.
It's quaintness, cleanliness, charm.
Great location. Fantastic staff.
beautiful interior design.
very close to the city.
Location is good, but the construction in Hhotel de ville disturbs. Clean comfort.
The location and friendly staff.
The Hotel lost our reservation - which ended up working out because they had a room available and upgraded us for the same price. It would have been undesireable if they did not have a room available as we arrived at the hotel late at night. I had made the reservation 5 months in advance and would suggest verifying reservation with hotel prior to arrival.
THe fact that they do not offer breakfast.
The only thing i did not like was that there was no free breakfast, just coffee.
The room we got could have been a little bigger and was on the third floor, no elevator. I guess thats part of the old hotel style charm.
Would have liked the coffee ready earlier. No hairdryer. Steep stairs to the front door, but that's no big deal...actually I have no real complaints. I did find the price steep, but understand that the tourist season is short. Gather ye rosebuds when ye may...
A bid expensive. Some may not like the victorian ambiance, and no ac.
But with the high ceilings one really did not need one.
I found he photos were a bit misleading. Stairs from the street were
very steep. I'd like to have had the coffee available earlier than
8 A.M. but appreciated the gesture. No hairdryer??? And finally,
although it had a great location, to sleep to the tune of $160+tax I
find is a lot.
Nothing!.
the double bed was i think only a three-quarter size bed,so for my friend and i it was a " top to toe" sleeping arrangement !!.
The fact that there no parking but it's to be expected in the old Québec. There's a underground public parking about 5 min from the hotel.
Access is up very steep steps and narrow corridor to be expected in old building. The decor style uses dark colours so brighter lights should be provided.
The room we had was quite small - but it was the economy room so that is expected and not a true negative.
Room a little bit small, but I did not care about that really.
Breakfast was not included in the price.
No parking, but reasonably priced parking within a block. No elevator, & narrow steps were a bit of a challenge, though staff were glad to help.
We had a pretty small room, but you pay for what you get!.
We were not told about all the construction @ us, our truck did not fit in the parking they had available and had to park in a lot 20 minutes walk away from the hotel and pay for it!
There was 100 tax on top of our hotel cost.
lack of soundproofing.
Stairs to room, construction going on across the road for the whole period we were there.
Nothing.
the squeeky floors above our ground floor room - the noise.
a lot of stairs so it's hard with small children and a lot of luggage.
Price is too high. No breakfast. Parking is not convenient and it is very hard to find a paking place.
Bed was small and the room was a little uncomfortable.
