The staff were very helpful with any number of things; aiding with parking a vehicle, expediting check-in/check-out procedures, and recommending great restaurants and attractions in the area. The hotel lobby and common areas were very tastefully decorated and the rooms were comfortable, although a bit small and some areas seemed a bit dingy. Overall, though, it was a great value and the rooms were certainly sufficient for a visit which allowed us to enjoy the best parts of Vieux Quebec. The loc.
all reviews » We got one of the 5th floor rooms, which meant it was really quiet. It also meant 5 flights of narrow stairs. Of course, since it's a historical building (like much of Quebec City) building codes prevent the addition of elevators, so this is par for the course. Beautifully reno'd room and bathroom, though the ceiling was a bit low due to the angle of the roof. Close to lots of nearby shopping and restaurants in the old city (and the lower old city, too, which was a bit cheaper). Cute rooms, nice feel with stone walls and pretend fireplace. Brilliant location in the old town. Walking distance to everything including the info centre, restaurants, supermarkets and coin laundry. Staff at the front sesk were very friendly. The room was lovely, with a brick wall and fireplace, and tasteful furnishings. We most appreciated the friendly, helpful staff, to a person. House keeping was not very good. room just a tiny bit small... 5th floor. Upstairs so called lounge not very nice . We were located near the lobby area and found it very noisy. Our room was up five flights of narrow stairs, no lift! It was an attic room with sloping ceiling on one side, I hit my head twice getting into bed. No breakfast in the hotel, you go around the corner to a resturant for it. Hotel is old with narrow corridors and many stairs, old or disabled beware! There is someone to carry your luggage up the stairs 8 to 8, but outside those times you are on your own. Hotel only good for young and fit people. Parking. More attention to cleaning..window corners etc.window covering. Very small room. Tiny wash room (so small the sink was in the foyer) Tiny, narrow stairs and hallways. Hard to navigate with luggage. No elevator. No view. Parking is charged $20 a day and you can't park it yourself (there is a vallet, so keep change for tips). No fridge in the room. Not as charming as the pictures suggest.
