The hotel is central, close to the train station and shopping. The staff are young, friendly and helpful. Our room was large (2 double beds), very clean, comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, and clean. The room was on the street side, away from the station, and was very quiet, although I did hear faint noises of trains shunting in the rail yard when I woke up in the night ......... the noise did not wake me. all reviews » What a perfect location!! Whistler's Inn is right in the center of town, across from the picturesque train station with the mountain backdrop. We loved the town of Jasper and had a great dinner at Villa Caruso. We only stayed one night, in-between camping. We were upgraded to the suite with the corner bay window in the little tower. How cool!!. The service was excellent. There was a mix up in my reservation, but they fixed it up in no time. Friendly, courteous staff. It is always a pleasure to stay here and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Jasper. Location of the hotel was great, near the train station and car hire firm which we used. Wifi also worked well which was important to us during that particular 24 hours. Our room was very large and comfortable. The staff was quite helpful. The breakfast served in their restaurant was very good. The location was perfect for us. We were given a HUGE room on the second floor overlooking the town. Very comfortable, homely decor. Good Wi-Fi. Good parking in a rear courtyard. We love the location, right across from the Viarail station, and walking distance to everywhere downtown. The hotel seems a little old and worn. It's not unpleasantly so, but it's borderline. It was a bit noisy ... not too much for us, but I could see it being an issue for some folks. Prices are a tad on the high side, but not out of line with most of the other hotels. Jasper is a tourist town and it is what it is. We arrived around 11pm and front desk clerk was abrupt and it seemed we were an inconvenience. The morning staff was better. Our room was located over the lounge and the smokers were right under our window so it was quite loud until 3 am and the smoke filtered into the room bothering my allergies. price!. Price, lack of pool for children. Liked everything!!. no problems. Offered free parking at hotel but car park was very small not big enough to accommodate everyone's cars if it was full you had to park on roadside and had to pay. We we lucky a car was pulling out as we drove in. Noise from the bar was exceptionally distracting and the amount of parking available to hotel guests was minimal. Limited parking (but didn't spoil the stay). Needs to upgrade its wifi though, slow connection or none, even in the main areas. no indoor swimming pool. Noise! Loud voices carrying through walls/windows in the wee hours. Overpriced! Super 8 quality for $200 + per night. Dingy dim hallways. Couldn't get into the lounge. ...Too crowded. Biggest complaint was no parking. Stairs to the restaurant. Wi-fi was really quite troublesome to get into. The bar! Too noisy and felt intimidated. the linens are old and not that comfortable. car park space not enough. Room smelt and aircon was of. the niose from the train all night becauce i had to have my window open because the thermostat didnt work. We had rooms over the outside area of the pub, and it was very noisy until late in the night. It was impossible to sleep with the windows open, and too warm to sleep with them closed, so we had to have the noisy aircon on even though the night time temp would have dropped to 10 degrees. Having said that, at least it had aircon! Note shower was over the bath and no handrails, may not be suitable for mobility impaired. The noise from the band playing until 12.30 a.m. in the pub downstairs, and then from the crowd that congregated outside after closing time, carousing for another hour or two. We would not stay at this hotel again. By far the most expensive place we stayed - 430 dollars inc tax for 2 nights, maybe reflective of Jasper generally. For that price we'd at least expect breakfast, but not included in room rate. Unremarkable, with ageing rooms and no breakfast for what was an expensive room relative to our prior night in Banff (for example, can't comment on other Jasper hotels). Found the staff not very friendly. Room was dated and need of renovating. the room I was in was definately dated could use some deep cleaning and there was not fridge for a suite i found it less nice then straight rooms i've been in in the past. not likely to stay again. Parts of the hotel and becoming a bit tired and battered. Could do with a refresher - especially the carpets. Nothing. Limited parking and was by far the most expensive of our stays without having anything special.
