Old charm, the pub downstairs had live music that could be heard in the hotel, however it did not go late, which leant itself to part of the charm of staying in an old hotel. Room was very clean, staff very friendly!. Comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities etc. Breakfast at restaurant adjoining was good value & an excellent dinner there. Convenient for exploring the town.

The location and price. It had everything we needed. It was very comfortable. Liked the book shelves with books to read. Staff was very friendly and helpful. LOCATION in town. Very noisy until midnight due to loud rock music from party booked into restaurant directly under the rooms. Spa bath didn't work, was pretty much the sole reason we picked this hotel. TV was tiny. The bed wasn't actually a king, it was two beds pushed together, so while sleeping you have the uncomfortable join line under you. Internet did not work, inconveniencing many travellers who were there. The king size bed was uncomfortable. You could feel two twin size beds pushed together. Room 2 small. Needs some upgrade. Anyway I'm ok with my stay 4 just $90. Very dated decor, small room for the price. They let me pay for too much for a cheaper room. The room was way too small, same with the bathroom, which was just a shower and toilet. Really needs an upgrade for the price. 1 facecloth for 2 people 2 days in a row;no refill on shampoo ;soap;coffee;room was tiny for the money. No chairs in room. Room was rather small & washing facilities cramped. Wifi quality not great. Breakfast in attached café expensive. I know that Jasper businesses make their living on four months of tourist trade, but paying over $ 200.00 for one night in a two star room that would have cost less than $ 80.00 anywhere else in Alberta is outrageous. There's been no upgrading since we stayed at the Astoria twenty years ago - the hall carpet still has the same bits of duct tape on the worn holes. This stay reminded me to never stay in Jasper in the summer. Old, not maintained, room very small, beds very small, chipped paint, amazingly small 'bathroom', dirty. We had booked a twin room but the room was so tiny that 2 people could hardly move. And the bathroom was a joke. The wash basin was also in the room. Otherwise the room had everything needed. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. This eill be a problem with heavy luaggage unless you are a man. Very small crowded room, no elevator, small lobby, rear alley view. The room was very expensive, bit it was small and hot. The bed linen were not very clean. I've paid 210 CAD for one night, and I expected to find something more than that. Room was very small and crowded. Extremely overpriced. Maid service just made beds, didn't clean. Wifi arrangement was a nuisance. Unclean. Poor value compared to Amethyst Hotel a block away. Laundry facility out of order (3 days). Room wasn't nearly the bright room that their internet pictures showed. It was dark, floors were dirty, bathroom door couldn't close, shower door almost fell out on my wife, shower stall and tub had spots of mold and bathroom floor was dirty. At $200 a night it was 4 or 5 times what it was worth. A poor experience for people that have gone through Jasper many times and had great other accomodations in the past. Room small. Shower would not work at all. Hugely over priced for what was on offer. First of all, the room was dirty dust every where. Even I talked to front desk she didn't do thing about it I don't recomand it to anyone that's the truth.
