The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the
room was really nice. Very clean. The hotel booked our bus tickets for
us for our onward journey which was a real help. Fantastic location
right in the heart of Pelourinho. (If you get the bus from the airport
get off at Praca de Se, take the lift up and then walk up the hill).
We have a 1-year-old baby and the staff was really kind and sympathetic
in everything we needed, providing us all the support to spend a nice
holiday and precious advises on where to go and what to do. all reviews »
It is located in the heart of Pelourinho, an amazingly beautiful place in Bahia State where one can breath the culture and art from the very first Brazilian Capital.
Excellent location at the city center from Salvador. Very helpfull and
friendly staff.
Owners, house equipment.
Excellent location right in the Old Town of Salvador, close to touristic
attractions. They organized airport transfer for us - worked perfectly.
They let us store our luggage for the whole day after we checked out.
Friendly staff.
Old building right in the center of pelourinho. Typical brazil style room. If you like to feel and hear the life in the streets of pelourinho in your pousada, very good choice.
The locaton was excellent -it was located right in the center of the Salvador carnival events & festivities.
Marlene is a sweetheart, and the staff work hard to make sure guests are comfortable. Trustworthy people.
No wifi in the upstairs room, although good connection downstairs in the
communal area. (Just realised looking back at my booking that we
didn't have a tv in our room - but obviously didn't miss it that
much when we were there!).
Being located in upper part of Salvador, it was excellent for visiting
the Pelourinho quartier, but it was very distant from the seaside.
Luckly, the owner understood and managed for us the trip to Morro de Sao
Paolo, which was a truly tropical paradise (even if heavily tourist).
It's a bit dangerous place specially for tourists who are not familiar with the Brazilian poverty. It's good always to keep in touch with native people to get information about where to go, at what time, what way to walk, etc. But that is not a problem with the Pousada, but every Brazilian Capital.
General High prices during carnival in Salvador.
Bathroom facilities were very basic, hot water was not really warm. Not
very clean. The room didn't have a proper window.
Be sure to take a taxi/transfer to the pousada when arriving after dark, and generally stay off the streets late at night.
May be a little bit noisy during the night.
The front desk reservation staff (the fulltime, overnights front desk man) was extremely rude, condescending, and exhibited very poor customer service skills.
The other (female) staff were all good & attentive/responsive tour needs during our stay.
the location is good, take into your consdiration that you will need to walk from the squre to the place, also the room that are adressing to street will be loud at nigh sincse there is a gathring of local pepole outside (at first look not so good).
ther is a lot of stairs to the rooms.
The area around the hostel did not make two female travelers feel safe or comfortable. If you have a man with you it could be more safe, but I would recommend against female-only groups staying in this area.
