The owners made us feel welcome even before we arrived, helping us with
arranging a city tour beforehand. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a
welcome drink and got to enjoy the spectacular city views. Breakfast is
as good as everyone says. Every day we were treated to scrumptious home
made cakes and pastries, fresh pressed juices and much more. If you
fancy a Caipirinha by the pool, then you can also order one. We
can't think of a better place for a first time or returning visitor

We stayed one week in Casa Geranio and the stay was wonderful: it's
the first time we put 10/10 on all criterias on Booking notations!
Very beautiful house, elegant, cosy, and nicely redecorated. The
house/terrace is quiet while being located in one of the most
animated part of Rio: Lapa / Santa Teresa. Famous places (bars /
restaurants / Bossa Nova concerts rooms...) at 10 minutes walk. The
terrace with swimming pool of the Poussada offers an amazing view on Rio
center. Very warm and friendly .
What can I say? I do not have enough superlatives to do justice to this hotel. The owners are simply marvellous. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I have never stayed in any hotel or B & B where I have been made to feel so welcome. It is truly an oasis. Everything about the hotel has been done with taste. Even the breakfast is a miniature work of art. The location is wonderful, tucked away on the hillside beside the tramline (not currently functioning) within easy walking distance of Ce.
It's a garden where you can enjoy the tranquility and calmness of
the greens surrounded by wanderful plants in the real old centre of
Rio with an amazing view of the town. Hospitaly of the hosts Claudio
and Gabriel is outstanding and gave you the impression and the feeling
you are at home. Rooms and the entire building are completely
renovated and all details are very accurate. The swimming pool is a
magic in the middle of the garden. Very recommended to have e very
nice experience in Rio.
The perfect place to stay in Rio! A true boutique hotel with incredible hosts Gabriel and Claudio. A beautifully designed small hotel - a rare find in Rio - complete with lovely little touches. The plunge pool was perfect after a long day in the City. A true 11/10 for such a reasonable price.
A near perfect mix of good taste, design and relax in a gorgeous and colorful city. If it´s your first time in Rio probably this boutique hotel is a sure "best choice" option. If you have been in the city before, this little gem would be a very interesting offer.
I am realy a frequent traveller, but never ever in my life had a breakfast, like here (with a fantastic panorama, view to the Cathedral).

I d like pretty much everything actually. The hotel is very calm and
clean. Claudio and Gabriel are just amazing doing everything to make
your stay as pleasant as possible. This is the best value for money I
ever experienced so far.
We loved every minute of our stay at Casa Geranio. Not only is the place wonderfully relaxing and beautifully decorated, the hosts Claudio and Gabriel are incredibly welcoming, helpful and caring of your stay with them.
Claudio is a excellent host that provides plenty of suggestions & tips for a great stay in Rio.

This is not a criticism of the place itself, but to the location. It is located in an area rather steep, so it is not recommended for the elderly, sedentary or people with poor physical condition.
Because of the work of the tram (bonde), it is hard to get there a taxi now. But the staff try to do their best, it is a temporary problem, and not fault of the Hotel.
We cannot fault our stay at Casa Geranio. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!.
