Definitely did not think it was as bad as some of the earlier reviews make out. In terms of value for money and location it was the best place we stayed in Rio de Janiero (private double room with bathroom and really good air conditioning in a convienient location). Rooms were spartan but clean, bed was very comfortable (I like a hard bed), location is right downtown so you don't have to go far to get anything. Staff were as helpful as they could be despite a significant language barrier. Very good value for what I paid and would happily stay again. -
