  The staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. As dated as the decor was it was nice to have a spa bath and a sauna in the room.   The staff were very professional, friendly and spoke excellent English - unlike staff at most hotels in Lapa and Glória. The breakfast service is fairly standard but good. If you have a room in the back, you have a gorgeous view of Corcovado and you can see the Redentor (barely but still) Best is the location: you are just 5 minutes away from Cent... what people say » ro, Cinelândia and all the transportation you could want, in a good part of Lapa. The lay-out of the rooms is spacious for Rio, and the AC was nice an - rooms are clean, with daily room cleaning during your stay, shower hot and good pressure, bed and pillows comfortable, staff speak fluent english and are all very polite and helpful. The location is great, about 700m from metro, bus stops even closer, taxi's driving past front door at any time of day or night, very accessible, walkin distance to arches of lapa, and night life area. breakfast in the morning is delicious and a large variety.

  New Hostel only opened 5 months before so facilities are pristine condition. Stylish design, Staff wear casual but 'branded' tops. This is a classy joint in the 'cultural' area, don't be fooled by the aged outside appearance..the inside is superb. I also participated in the two free bbq nights during my stay and on two nights the guests were given... what people say » 2 hr 'happy hours' with free caiphirinia's ...awesome! Great atmosphere, pool table, internet, sundeck, library..The best Hostel I've ever stayed in - Supercool hostel with really nice staff. We were two people staying there for 9 nights. We met awesome people and had a really great time. May be the best location you could get during the carnival! Easy to get to Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. The design there is also really cool! We really liked that it has pool table, bar, kitchen, barbeque area and always free toilets and showers. We´re def. Going back!
