Tram station close to hotel. Inexpensive parking. English spoken. Locality of hotel (just off main route). The tram stop is only 5 minutes walk and €1.2 to the centre and runs till 1am.The Duty manager was extremely helpful. Easy access to city centre by tram. Good breakfast selection. Excellent breakfast and friendly front-office staff. Good food - convenient position for access from motorway. All staff had excellent English and gave friendly relaxed atmosphere. The beds and pillows and very quite and clean!. Locations, comfort level, airco,. Easy access from highway. Rest, eat.Quiet and comfortable. Right next to the highway. Would be nice to know about the €8.50 daily parking charge. There is no where else to park. Bathroom had damp patches in the tile grout.Bedroom window faced internal overlooking resteraunt, unusual! therefore I was unable to open the window for some fresh air if wanted. Parking costs eur 8.00 per day when the hotel is outside the city. Wired internet in the hotel room is free of charge only for one hour.Access from Ghent by road got us "confused". Best to use the trams - just round the corner. The stairs going from the parking lot to the hotel. We were not warned about the building work around the hotel. The car park was not easily accessible-we had to drive through a building site resulting in a puncture and 80 Euro expenditure to have it repaired. At the end of the day we felt that the hotel was responsible. The prices.Mosquitos were a problem. Poor breakfast choices and quality. Toaster made by Noah. Fried eggs congealed. Only one choice of fruit juice. Noisy "juicer". Very bland cheeses and cold meat. Smoke in bedroom which was "non-smoking".Warning - When checking out I was told the cost in Euros. Howeverwithout being asked or told, they billed my credit card in PoundsSterling. This results in a 3.5% loading (I.e overcharge) to theirbenefit. I have complained to Holiday Inn and am awaiting a satisfactoryresolution (I.E. a refund of the overcharge). 1)No customer friendly staff in general (especially room service and breakfast staff) 2) Free internet is extremely slow and pay internet is not much better.
