I love everything about this hotel and can't imagine staying anywhere else when I'm in Sydney. The atmosphere, the character, the style and the wonderful staff. The location couldn't be more perfect, surrounded by water and a lovely walk along the harbour foreshore and beyond to reach the restaurants, cafes and The Rocks, but tucked away enough to be peaceful and quiet. I recently had to return there at a distressing time, a funeral, I was upgraded to a beautiful waterside room, a bottle of ch.
all reviews » The location , the great spirit of the staff reflected in their work ethic and translated back to me. I stayed 6 nights with my sister as her birthday treat with valet parking. We also had Room service for some meals and enjoyed some good movies after our long days of rediscovering Sydney. We felt welcome. The location is simply stunning and uplifting. The service was fantastic , the room was magnificent and the view was breathtaking . The must to do is dine at the restaurant down stairs, sensational food. Great location you are under the the Sydney Harbour bridge and a 2 min walk to the shops and clubs.. We will be staying there everytime we go to Sydney ! Hats off to everyone. Rooms are excellent and very relaxing. The dinning is 5 star with very friendly staff. would rate this hotel as the best I've stayed at. Obove all, the location being central to the harbour and restaurants. It was quiet and not overwhelmed with traffic and noise from the street. The noise of the toilets and the water saving shower. The fact the room had no windows to open - felt hermetically sealed in the room. The bathroom was a bit tatty and needed some tlc. Some dirty, cracked tiles in bathroom and noisy toilets The fact our booking .com paper work showed we had breakfast included but message had NOT been relayed to Hotel. Parking at $40 per night is excessive. The other roomwhich we got for our son and his girlfriend was a different story, no view and a roaring noise on and off all night, so they didnt really sleep, it kept them awake.dont know if it has any thing to do with the toilets as they have a very load roaring sound. nothing. Maybe it's an European thing. But I found it strange to charge 25 AUD for breakfast and ca. 30 AUD for a two-day internet package. Also the Wi-Fi connection in my room was quite bad. No place to put your suitcase, room bit too small. Strangers sat down on our veranda. The only think I didn't like was the exhaust fan in the bathroom which was always on (and noisy). But that is being very picky!. Nothing really!. Refit was a bit shabby eg covers of power points fell off and cupboards stuck. Staff were diffident. Public areas were cold, meaning no-where to sit and enjoy a drink or just relax. Booked a king superior room & paid for the up grade but got a room similar to last room which we paid less for, I didn't feel we got value for money this time round. Nothing except high traffic area in foyer on Saturday due to weddings. nothing memorable about rooms - decor bland and tired. tea, coffee not refilled after 1st day. Cups not cleaned or replaced. Nothing. nothing. Meals were expensive. The tv had poor reception and the plumbing was noisy. Breakfast eggs and bacon were cold. I've thought long and hard..nothing to dislike. Seagulls are a general Sydney issue. DONT FEED them people. Jet engine toilets, also $371 nzd per night. Langham, Sky Grand etc Auckland, max for same quality room $200 pn. Storage space was limited in some the rooms. Breakfast wasn't to the standard I wanted. Noisy plumbing, Paying for internet (although redunded if you eat in the resturant). noise from the toilet when showering. Bed end too close to the wall in room 262. $40 for parking. Pillows were uncomfortable, shower head was very low, my 13 year old was the only one who could stand under it, and it ran very slow. Toilets are extremely noisy when flushed so all night when rooms either side of us flushed it woke us up. Also a lot of noise from outside our window on the Pier. We all woke very tired and very cranky we just wanted to go home. So not a very enjoyable night for us. It was mentioned the room would be 41 m2 but I think it would not exceed 30. I know we booked late but 340 Aussie dollar was too steep. The noise spoilt the weekend. Price, unfriendly staff, expensive food and drinks, no pool/spa. I expected more luxury.
