The staff was excellent from our early arrival to late departure. They were always happy and accomodating in requests. Only regret is that we did not eat dinner at the Sofitel, we will know better next time. The staff were so professional, courteous and helpful. Room was very comfortable and kept immaculate during our stay. Loved the pool and poolside service. Both restaurants were great places to dine.

The staff at the front desk we lugged all our luggage up stairs to find the cards did not work to get into the room so I went down to the front desk no apology and it was inferred that it was my fault I also found I was treated different to my partner ... Perhaps it's his tattoos ??? I was unsure but only one particular staff member at the front desk all other staff great. Minor point as we were there to relax but found internet charge quite excessive. I have paid the same amount to cover me for 4 days use at local Apartment in Broadbeach as opposed to 24 hours !. A bit of a problem due to light rail construction. But this is understandable. It was just a bit hard getting to the shopping centre and Casino as monorail was not operating at the time. But this was acceptable due to the reason. $15 a day for parking seemed a little steep and the cost of the wi-fi was insane. When you're paying that much just to stay at the place, charging a gross amount for Internet is ridiculous. leaving. I believe it was bit expensive. Very disappointed with breakfast, hot food should be hot, not cold. Should offer coffee different sorts, not just plunger with floaties of coffee in my cup, must upgrade plungers. Thinking back, that's maybe why I was offered it at $25. No offence, it was the most expensive toast I have had. Needs improving, especially chefs, need to smile and offer different egg sorts, staff don't want to be there. No towel rails in the bathroom!. Breakfast was a let down , the bacon was cold, as was the mushrooms and my poached eggs all I could taste was vinegar, very disappointed. Underground parking was a bit hard to negotiate . The bill had the cost of the room as $270 and $280 and $210 where the total cost quoted by letsbookhotel.com was $640. Luckily I had taken my computer and could show my booking confirmation from letsbookhotel.com. No bedside tables probably would not stay again because of this. Slightly older building Bed far to soft. A little pricey. Bathroom in our room (1511) needs to be renovated to blend in with the suite. Also the step up into bedroom can be dangerous. (did stub my toe). Internet is not included. You have to pay extra to access internet in the room. They let you use internet in the Business center complimantary for a short time only once, unlike other hotels where they give you a code to use in the business center once every day of your stay for half an hour each time. Expensive breakfast but à lot of restaurants around. The breakfast was ridiculously over-priced-a bowl of muesli, tea and toast for $50!. floor on level 2 (on way to shops) was very uneven and weird under the carpet. There was a cockroach in our room. You had to pay for your parking. The quality of mattress was poor,bed size was double (too small for a couple) although I asked for king size or at least queen!. Pre ordered champagne prior to arrival, but despite 3 attempts to arrange this over 2 days, this simply could never be delivered. Room service hopeless. for the price we payed for the room , we were let down because there was no spa in our room !. parking poor...blues festival was on and we should have been pre warned although we booked on line. We just wanted a quiet week-end and we got far from that. Was not the hotels fault though. Would have liked a room more with a view of the ocean. Room was basic and small and hotel was expensive for what you get. I didn't like the room being an hour late. I didn't like the windows shaking in the wind. I didn't like the signature restaurant being closed both nights. I didn't like being charged $30 a day just for Internet considering our room cost $720. Dirty grout in shower. Pillows way to soft, balcony had glass everywhere from broken bottle dropped from above, lucky no one was hurt. - Spa wasn't the cleanest - room was nice but not that great - rooms a bit dated and on small side - not good value for the spa room at $420 + $15 parking fee. - would have been great at $200-250 a night.
