Spent the final two nights in Perth at Pier 21 (Executive 1-room apartment). I must say that it's the best decision we made. Right after the booking online, I was contacted shortly by Pier 21 directly to confirm the booking. And upon arrival, the very friendly and warm staff assisted with the check-in most professionally and I really appreciated it especially after a long drive up from Margaret River. I was allocated a river-view room on the 3rd level and the view was just splendid. Even my 2.5.
all reviews » Generally: lovely and clean. Overall just what you want to walk into. Kids gasped and went 'woooh'! Loved the design of the executive Queen with 2 rooms: gave me a break from the kids and they loved having their own room! Furnishing and fittings were really nice. Staff all the way through were really smiley and friendly. I thought the personalised greeting card upon arrival in the room was a nice touch. Good selection of mini-bar items and liked the frozen meal options. Myself and the k. The location was great. We needed to be in Perth which was only moments away but decided to stay in Fremantle to avoid the traffic and hustle and bustle. Great idea! The beds were very, very comfortable. The entire room was very clean. The view was fantastic and we were able to go for a walk and use the fitness center in the morning before a fabulous breakfast. The chef and wait staff went beyond the call of duty to meet our every whim and the food on offer was fresh and cooked to perfection. . The hotel was absolutely fantastic, all brand new, clean, delicious breakfast included & Erin upgraded us for free, without asking. Plenty of free parking. Our room opened onto the river, beautiful. The best hotel I've stayed in Perth & I do quite often. Definitely will stay there all the time now. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Apartment was fantastic - clean, great facilities and a lovely view of the river. Loved the added touch of the personal hand written card in the room on arrival and idea of ready meals in the freezer. Outdoor pool and brekkie were great too. The staff,attention to detail showed they actually enjoy working at pier 21.Loved the river view,breakfast and the chef.A nice sized fridge and comfy beds.Very safe balcony for 2 year old grandson.Amazing river activities both morning and night.Didn't find it noisy,just really relaxing. As I was staying there over the Easter break,it was the little things like the chocolate rabbit that was left on the bed,and it was really nice chocolate as well,not one of those cheap branded ones. The bed was great, the view was fantastic and the large balcony was great. The position was very quiet and peaceful and away from the busy Freemantle but close enough. The staff when we arrived in reception and checked in and out were absolutely lovely. Very well presented and lovely natured. Very refreshing. The view of the river and surroundings was awesome. The rooms were neat and comfortable my nine year old liked the TV in her room. The room was very contemporary, clean, spacious and a fantastic view. This is a minor criticism, really, this is some of the best apartment accommodation we have stayed in with our children. Absolutely no faults at all. Indoor pool area was very noisy and stuffy. Slightly small living area,A couple of house keeping items had to be delivered as there were only 2 towels for 4 people.Very small issue.Would love an evening dining room. There was nothing that I didn't like. I will stay there again. No room service on offer, Frozen tv dinners are in poor taste for a hotel that boasts a four star rating in my opinion. Where is the resturant and Bar?. Their is no easy access to the river from the hotel and our bathroom flooded when the shower was used (poor drainage) perhaps a glass door fitted to the fixed glass panel would solve this. nothing. There is nothing we could name. It is a little on the expensive side compared to what I experience travelling across Australia recently, I guess the only other thing would be that is a little to far to walk to the shops or restaurants but we still enjoyed our stay very much thankyou so they are just comments :). The plumbing. the shower was terrible and rest of plumbing not so good. The only thing that let it down for us was that when we went to breakfast the waitress didnt advise what was included in our breakfast and it wasnt made clear on how the layout worked. Just that the one toilet was located in the bathroom which was also an adjoining to each room. We had to wait almost an hour for breakfast and the food was tasteless. I wouldn't recommend eating there. A short drive into Fremantle or Cottesloe for many other lovely breakfast venues and a cheaper cost. No face washers were left when the room was made up on 2 occasions. We were supplied with these when requested. The hotel provides a wonderful breakfast room but lacks evening dining facilities. we would have used this facility on several occasions with guests if available. Wheel chair bathroom Queen size bed - expected a king Balcony is ON the footpath - there is no privacy at ground level Low ceilings. No criticisms at all!. Its expensive but I guess no more so than anywhere else in west australia. Too remote - 15 to 20 minute walk to the train station to get anywhere. Charging for the wifi - first hotel I have experienced this. Slightly out of the centre of Fremantle, we did walk in a few times but was really a taxi ride away from centre. The rooms were on the pricey side but maybe Perth is generally pricey. The lift ends with a major jolt every time it stops. No free Wifi. Small car park spaces. Being from the country we had a large 4wd with roofrack and was very tight fit. Ended up parking out the front of reception on road, as we couldnt squeeze into the one remaining bay. The second bedroom had two king singles and we weren't told of this prior to arrival. No price list for mini bar. It boasts water views but we had no view! On checkout the receptionist spent way too much time with another couple checking out - it was clear from their conversation about catching up soon that they knew each other - and this was despite myself and three other lots of guests waiting to check out. Location was a bit inconvenient to places of intrest- restaraunts, shopping etc but nice location. Hot chocolate and coffee too much milk no taste! Need some vending machines. Need takeaway pamphlets. no meals at night. not into frozen dinners and couldn't walk in the rain to get something to eat as I had no car. That the breakfast room was under rennovation and that you only served instant coffee in teh meeting room (although staff were trying to work the new Nespresso machine). Bed and pillows could have been softer. Shower over bath. Security on bottom floor was a bit of a concern. No windows so a decision on whether to leave the sliding door open with a fair bit of pedestrian traffic outside plus a few fisherman at 2 am in the morning right outside our room. Good that we had breakfast included, but unfortunately we waited far too long (40Minutes) for our eggs benedict to be cooked & our coffees to be made. Really needed more staff. The receptionist at check in was not very experienced. We were upgraded from studio apartment to a suite but really the suite was too big for the 2 of us with different sections and no view... Becoming run down, especially indoor pool. In our room neither of the sliding doors nor fly screens to balcony could be opened without force. Two bedroom apartment, sitting area too small for 3 adults, not enough hanging space in main bedroom, only 1 bathroom, very limited with supply of tea/coffee refreshments. Expected more for the daily rate. Quite small rooms. Gym not open advertised hours. need transport to get to around.
