Clean, comfortable and very convenient for bus tours and shopping. It was fine, nothing outlandish, nothing flash. Good staff, very welcoming - and their English language skills were far, far better than my German, which was much appreciated. Only a couple of minute's stroll from the U-Bahn station so much of the city was easily accessible. Good supply of information leaflets for tourists. Good food available nearby in the evenings.

The best shoping posibilities are a 5 - 10 min. walk away! I thought the illumination in the hotel was dim. small dislike: lighting in the room - it was a little bit too dark. no, we liked it very much. It was too close to the reconstruction work, but at the other hand, it made stay more comfortable because of less people in the centre of Berlin. other guests noise due to open windows. The hotel is located in a rather old but very charming and classicalbuilding. However, this means that the hotel has some drawbacks and therooms cannot be compared with the ones in a new building.1. V/poor lighting in room, only 4 x 25w side lights. Had to ask for brigher bulbs. Evening staff said they didnt have any but they were in a cupboard in reception all the time ! 2. Tried to charge full room rate for a later check out of just 2 - 3 hours. 3. Didnt provide any washing or changing facilities for guests with later evening departure. 4. Didnt reply to any e-mails at all !. slow elevator, noise from outside. Yes, they charged my credit card before I arrived. Actually they charged it several weeks before I arrived without my permission or even asking me. I found that to be unacceptable and I was very disappointed. The fee of internet should be included into price of room. 10 euros for a day is very expensive. The hotel internet costs are not big.The hotel was good but it is looking a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Our room had a few marks on the wall where it looked like coffee had been splashed which could have been washed off. The bathroom was quite small and could have been cleaner in places. It was also a problem that we couldn't open our window very easily to keep cool at night. Comfortable enough, needs a lick of paint!. So, we reserve a non smoker room, but finaly when arrive the staff was told us, the nonsmokers room was not possible to find. This was a terrible thing for nonsmoker live in smokers room. Ever°ything else was fine and good!. Scaffoldingover front of building but with no building activity - notgood / Cupboard space totally disastrous with doors haning off hingetracks and clothes hangers badly designed / Steep stairs at entry tohotel reception up which heavy suitcases had to be lugged with no liftuntil one reached the 1st floor./ No english newspapers to read. The rooms were far too hot.We asked for a fan, but the desk clerk said they didn't have them,She said, "all our rooms are hot!" The windows opened, but one side kept closing.A person of the staff that did not want to accept my discharge the evening before my leaving. Access is poor.bathroom old and definitly in need of renewel, bathroom looked dirty, not by the cleaner's fault, but by the state of the elements. There were very few English language channels on the TV - and these were news channels. There were plenty of other language entertainment channels. Our room was a little tight and the sink was in the main room rather than in the bedroom. The decoration and equipment (apart from the TV) all looked a bit tired and jaded. Although the room was for 2 people there was only one seat.The furnitures were old and worn out, walls need to be painted. lack of air conditioning. The hotel is very child unfriendly. Moreover the entrance to the hotel includes a flight of more than 20 steps and is therefore poor in access. No help is provided for these steps whatsoever from the hotel staff. I had a tiny, tiny room with a single bed overlooking a parking lot. The bathroom had no bath, only a shower and was very grungy. The sink was in the room itself. Comparing it to the Royal Magda where I stayed in Paris in August which was near the Champs Elysees this hotel was completely inferior. The price didn't even include breakfast for which they would have charged me another 12 euros.Too hot and no fans available or fridge in room so you could have cold water. one evening i could order internet from my hotel room, the other evening they refused that. bed was a bit small for me, the wooden floors were making noise when you walked over them. The eye catcher, the elevator was out of order.
