  We stayed in the economy studio, and upon our arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of local wine. The location of the hotel was really ideal - It was just far enough outside of the city that we could walk to the beach in less than five minutes, and walk into the city in 20-30 minutes. The staff was also one of the most accommodating we have ever... vad folk säger » had. She was extremely helpful in suggesting places for day trips and how to get to and from anywhere we went. She always offered to make any travel - Beautiful hotel, very clean and well looked after. Lovely private swimming pool that was kept spotless and never full. Plenty of sunbeds and poolside chairs. Breaskfast for 6euro (3 for kids) with plenty of options available Snacks available at lunchtime - limited but good value. Close proximity to beach - 2 minutes walk and a further beach at 5 minutes with more facilities. Bus stop for Chania at the end of the road - cost 1euro 10 and run regularly. Only 9 apartments so the pool is not crowded, it's more like private pool ;) Wonderful owner who is technical and relaxed at the same time so the holiday was stress free.   Localization has only advantages. Building is on a quiet street (but close to main road, what makes easy to get to the hotel), beach is very close (about 200m) and supermarket is 5 minutes walk.   As a backpacker I really enjoyed staying in Elea. The apartments are really nice, the swimming pool and the short distance from the beach can save you on a hot day. The owners were friendly and helpful with me. Close to Elea one can also find traditional bakeries and super markets with local products.   Stayed in this hotel in early October, 2013. The hotel is located in a very nice place, just 5 minute walk from Sunset Beach, with its calm and shallow waters, perfect for vacation relax. The place itself is a family run business, serviced apartments hotel, combined with a very nice restaurant.
