The local restaurants were touristy and uninspiring, but we found some excellent restaurants in the old town, which is about 20 minutes' walk from the hotel. The hotel was close to everything, both the beach and the old town, our room was comfortable and bigger then we thought, there was a balcony and a bathtub.   We received a very warm Cretan welcome from Kiria Chryssa and her daughter Galia who spoke excellent English. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, fresh towels and cleaning were provided every other day and we had fresh sheets in the middle of our stay. We also enjoyed the mini menagerie consisting of numerous hens, (quiet ones too) a small herd of goats - very friendly hoster, good location, quiet place (appartments and beach - both), very easy to reach Retimno' center.
