We particularly loved the food which was delicious for breakfast and dinnerthe three nights we stayed, everything freshly prepared with homemade jams, bread etc. and vegetables and herbs from the gardens. Our room was very comfortable with the facility to make coffee and watch the mountains, so relaxing! It is perfect place to walk, eat and relax. Zaros just a two minute drive away if you need supermarket or bank.

The facilities at Madonna Studios are excellent, but the real difference is Thomais. - I liked the room which was big and bright, I could easily prepare my own dish as the cooker, coffee maker, kettle were provided or go to the tavern which was just across the street. the landlady was very helpful, kind and she even baked for us traditional cakes with cheese!! we had fresh flowers every day too.I stayed for 3 days and truly enjoyed it.

We stayed at the Happy Cretan for three nights and the only bad thing I have to say is that we didn't have more time there. The hotel setting was absolutely gorgeous! This is the place to stay at Sougia. Big comfortable room, ultra clean is what we needed for a 2 days stay to hike down the gorges. Hotel owner Markos did more than the expected making all arrangements for our hiking trip which is much appreciated and definitely something most people need when going to hike in the surrounding gorges of Samaria and Agia Irini.

The room was basic but the balcony made up for it as we were able to open up the double doors and enjoy the amazing views. we spent a glorious week in Almyrida everyone there was friendly and helpful.
