We live in Crete (East) but have not been to Chania before and we found the old port to be very beautiful.

and polished. Every staff member is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Our hotel room was a palace! Very comfortable king size bed, sitting
area with table and chairs, patio with view of harbor with table and
chairs, a kitchenette in the room stocked with dishes, utensils, cooking
pans plus refrigerator. The bathroom was lovely with a heavenly large
shower.

After 3 nights I checked on letsbookhotel.com and discovered they had a suite available and we were moved. I think it was a misunderstanding and they very kindly did not charge us for the upgrade. The facilities at Madonna Studios are excellent, but the real difference is Thomais. - I liked the room which was big and bright, I could easily prepare my own dish as the cooker, coffee maker, kettle were provided or go to the tavern which was just across the street. the landlady was very helpful, kind and she even baked for us traditional cakes with cheese!! we had fresh flowers every day too.I stayed for 3 days and truly enjoyed it.

Staff were insanely nice and extremely helpful. They let me check in early and because it was towards the end of the season they upgraded my room from a double to a quadrouple. You can book excursions around crete through the hotel. I booked a hike to Samaria Gorge, the old man at reception woke up and made me breakfast before the hike. It's also right on the town beach and 10 minute walk to the old part of Chania.
