I booked a superior room which was in an excellent condition, quite large, clean bathroom with a luxury shower, new tv and quiet a/C. Bed was big, not too soft and not too hard. The staff is very kind and always good for smalltalk and a joke. The breakfast buffet is not huge but has everything you need, including fresh fruits which I always appreciate. The kitchen is open to the eating room so you can at any time see and talk to the cooks. The reception staff is always helpful and book little t.
all reviews » From the time we booked, there was good communication with the hotel, who arranged pick up from the station, after we arrived on the overnight train from Hanoi. Great welcome by the staff, who certainly maintain the Friendly Hotel reputation. The room was ready early, which was really appreciated first thing in the morning. Any queries or requests were well handled and the staff arranged onward travel for us to Hoi An. The Hotel run a Tea and Talk programme to allow Vietnamese students of Engli. They call this the Friendly Hotel and it fully deserves this name. The staff are welcoming, friendly, helpful and interested in its customers. Tours and onward travel can be booked very efficiently and bikes can be hired. The whole place is very well finished in modern materials and is kept clean, has a good buffet breakfast, comfortable beds and high standard bathroom. The owner trained in the uk and is aware of the standards expected by many overseas customers. It is extremely good value for . One of the best hotels I have stayed in on my numerous trips to Vietnam. The staff are there to make you have the most enjoyable time. I really enjoyed the Tea and Talk with the local Vietnamese students - an absolute highlight. The owner of the hotel is a very nice man and well worth the time to sit down and chat with to hear his story. Close to all the historical sights and street food galore is on your door step. Nothing. everything was good. nothing to comment!. not really the hotels fault but id recommend avoiding the city tour that you can book through them. an extremely bored and unhelpful tour guide made the day very uninteresting. perhaps visit the citadel and other sights on your own. Touts hassled us so much after we crossed the Trang Tien bridge on the way to the Citadel in the early afternoon, that we turned around and left. We went back next morning at 6.30am, saw no touts, and had a lovely wander around. I think we were overcharged for the laundry... Nothing. Wifi didn't work in our room. It was fine in reception though. Nothing. Nothing, everything was excellent. Wi-fi didn't work in our room (1st floor) and room was small altough it was a deluxe one. There's nothing we didn't like. Only thing we didn't like was the window directly to another building.No sunlight the whole day, but yeah, that's vietnamese style and we weren't at the hotel during the day anyway... Breakfast is basic but good. A few flies were buzzing around the fruit at breakfast - some cling film could've helped here. Bit of a walk to the citadel, but close enough to bars/restaurants. Only missing feature was a safe in the room.
