Travelling mid range or on a budget? Then this is the only hotel you should stay in to see Hue. Stayed two nights, and from start to finish the staff at this hotel were a delight, reception ladies in particular. Professional but empathetic, we felt genuinely welcome for our stay. They seemed to read individual customers needs very well (my hot and bothered missus being one of them). Room was small but very well presented and spotless. loved the fact they had a sizeable dvd collection free for u.
all reviews » We spent 4 nights at the Orchid Hotel in Hue. From the time we made our reservation, arranged for airport pick-up and throughout our stay the staff was very responsive and extremely helpful. Everyone from reception to housekeeping was friendly. The room (603) was well maintained and everything was super clean. Towel animals were made every day - felt like we were on a cruise - but better! The hotel amenities included PC in each room, satellite tv with international channels, breakfast buffet in. This is a great hotel which was way better than we had expected from the price. The staff could not be more helpful. They all remembered our names and several spoke reasonable English and french. Our flight was delayed and we did not arrive until after 2200.We were greeted with a fruit drink, packet of biscuits and bananas. Our deluxe room was huge with all the amenities including a hard wired computer you would expect in a much more expensive hotel. Buffet breakfast was also good with eggs c. We are delighted by our experience at the Orchid Hotel. We were there around the Tet holiday and booked the hotel for 5 nights as we did not know whether it would be easy to travel during this period. After welcoming us with fresh fruits and juice, the staff very kindly proposed us an upgrade for their "romantic " room which was not booked. We enjoyed the Jaccuzzi, the computer and the aquarium in our room! The room was perfect, with a fresh fruit basket in the afternoon. Breakfast was deliciou. This was a budget priced hotel that offered excellent customer service and far exceeded our expectations. The staff including Mrs Thuy were very friendly, spoke good English and were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want to stay in the heart of the old town within easy walking distance of the Forbidden City and in an area close to some very nice restaurants this is the place to book. We were totally satisfied and have no hesitation in recommending this super little hotel. Very good location, good breakfast, large room with good selection of TV (also video), very comfortable bed, and excellent service from all staff (the porter drove me to the station on his motorbike in the rain to change my rail ticket!). The hotel also arranged pickup at the station albeit that the train was over an hour late. Most of all, the hotel is well located within good walking proximity to restaurants, travel agents and the main features of Hue. The Orchid Hotel was perhaps the highlight of our whole experience in Vietnam. What lovely lovely people who treated my wife and I like Royalty throughout our 3 night stay there. Superlative praise simply does not fully describe how nice our stay was. The food was good the staff were brilliant and the accomodation wonderful . I would return to Vietnam purely to experience such wonderful staff all over again. The rooms are really nice, we got an upgrade on arrival for free. Excellent hotel en good value for your money. Hue is a most go, and this hotel is the cherrie to your cake. Everything was just excellent,from the welcome drink on arrival to the departing gift of cool water for our travels it was 100% superb. The location is super and the staff just can't do enough for you, we were even given complimentary locally produced cakes on our second day. This is one of the best mid range hotels I have stayed in. The staff at the hotel are the ones that make this hotel get great reviews. Courteous and friendly and will go out of their way to help out. Very close to the city and the restaurants. They organised the hotel car for us to travel to hoi an for 70 dollars, with an excellent English speaking driver( Dang). If I could give this hotel 11 out of 10 for service, I would. They recommended a great restaurant a few metres away to eat traditional Hue food. The staff went over board, without being irratating. Understood English well, so we were able to communicate. This was the best hotel we stayed in from Saigon to Hanoi Highly recommended. Such friendly staff who go out of their way to help we used one of their drivers to pick us up from Hoi An and he was excellent. The hotel is well situated for the local bars and restaurants. They provide one basket of fruits every alternions and some chocolates for welcoming. When we checked out to go to Danang they gave us some bottles of water. Shortly, everything was perfect here!. We received a very warm welcome at the Orchid Hotel, the kids were even offered toys. We first had some misunderstanding with the staff about the best way to travel to Danang airport. We didn't get very consistent advice. Luckily in the end they bent over backwards to get us to the airport in time, so big thanks to them :). Nothing negative to say at all. Slightly on the expensive side for the city. The air conditioning in the room could have been a touch stronger but it didn't spoil our stay. Hassle from some cyclo drivers. Only a minor problem: Breakfast is a little limited. There wasn't anything of the hotel which we disliked. We once had a small incident with the electricity. Outside noise was a little loud at night. none. nothing. nothing-all was very good. Nothing really. Nothing. Wifi was slow.
