- comfy blankets - wide choice of TV channels - location very near to halal restaurants, walking distance( about 10mins) to Daun Restaurant and other halal eateries. - 10 mins walk to Ben Thanh market. - 2 mins walk to Trung Nyugen coffee place. (very nice & strong Vietnam coffee with comfy sofas) - hotel very affordable! Booked 2 rooms (1 king + 1 twin adjoining for 3 nights at SGD450).
all reviews » Decent location, Saigon is a small city that you can walk across District 1 easily by foot. Rooms are new, clean and relatively spacious by HCM's standards. Great value for money - explore the street food within a few steps from the hotel. You will discover a hawker that sells "Bun Thit Nuong" (grilled pork rice vermicelli) that is simply fantastic. The hotel was very clean. The toilet was as if new. The location was perfect. Near Ben thanh but not too close that is was noisy outside. Interior design very well thought out. Wifi was free and available. This was very important for us to map / plan our itinerary. The chambermaids are very helpful and attentive. Sunflower Hotel is very clean with friendly staff. The hotel is very new and very nicely detail decorated. They must have spend quite a lot on renovation to look like a 5 star hotel. We enjoy our stay very much and definitely worth the price. Value for money and the room we had is exactly like what is presented in the pictures. The bell boys and receptionist are ever so helpful :) We will definitely recommend this hotel to all travellers and friends!. Room was spotlessly clean. Good location, less than 5 minutes stroll to market, quite a few cafes and eating places around. I.d cafe a cosy cafe and popular hangout place is close by. Breakfast was fair. very friendly staff. Nothing. - gave us a twin bed instead of a king bed which was confirmed upon making reservation - not many varieties for breakfast, pretty boring breakfast spread for muslims. There was no room service even though there was a menu! I think it is ok to say no room rather than make someone expect it and then find out too late that there is none. They have a lot of dead weight staff. None of them would deliver our packages to our room. Some of the bell boys were very sour when we asked to carry our bags. Why work in hospitality business if you are not feeling friendly?. Full of con men in the city, they find ways to con your money. Please do not trust them and beware of your money. Seems it is hotel policy to hold on to passports for deposit purposes. Decided to settle in full with 2.5% credit card charges and got the passport back. Another small minus is that there is no air conditioning in the corridors. So its pretty warm when you first enter your room especially after a whole day of touring in the sun and humidity, it takes a while for the airconditioning to cool the room. none really. Only one pillow each. For westerners we like our eggs hot. Would have been okay to have some bacon occassionaly for breakfast. Nothing. Their policies on letsbookhotel.com don't match their own in house ones so if you change a date you will get charged a day even though it says you can 15 days ahead at no cost- we are still in discussion on this one! Breakfast a little lean. Only one good restaurant within walking distance - The Corner - about one block away. The pillow a bit too hard, other than that all perfect. new open , less staffs and no tour desk. I did not like the breakfast ... unless you got in early (06:30) the food was cold!. Breakfast was terrible every was cold or gone. None of the staff during my stay spoke English, and my Vietnamese is minimal. Hallways a bit dirty Not as nice on lower floors. They only provide us with 1 keycard, we're 3 person staying? Asked for another not given. Asked for extra pillows, they said NO. Some rooms have no windows, so you need to be very carefull what you book. We had a deluxe and they offered a no window room and we asked to be changed. The staff complied, but they tried to sell us a story that it was in fact a deluxe room, and the deluxe doen't mean no window, but a bathtub instead of shower (we didn't buy it). Breakfast selection could be better. Breakfast was not good at all. Staff very rude. We had a problem with the airport pick up service and the staff was not helpful at all. They wanted us to pay for something we did not use. The hotel facility looks unfinished -there was cable in the bath room unclosed. Called the reception to open the safe but nobody ever came. The interio of the hotel room looks cheap. toilet was not clean and no bath gel & shampoo only empty boxes for extra bed said on website its 10 USD. but they charged 15 USD. Everything - a dirty city, bad smell, bad food, locals trying to rip you off left, right, & center all day, every day. Would not return there unless I had to for some reason, and if so, would stay for the absolute minimum if I have too. we booked a room for 3 person for 4 person and asked for extra bed they couldnt make it. also the room was small for 3 person. third bed was not comfortable. We had to book another room. Staff is not so friendly. I will pay via credit card, they tried charge 2.5% more from room rate as bank fee, even booking condition was not writen for bank fee charge.
