The front desk help was excellent. I also loved the cleanliness of the room and the view was simply gorgeous. When I told the front desk that my wife was having surgery the next day at Scrips Hospital she changed our third floor room to ground floor very near the entrance, very nice. We had room service and the food was excellent and way too much. If we had known how much we were going to get we would have ordered only one plate and shared it. Overall very nice and helpful staff. I will stay th.
all reviews » The beds were very comfortable, the proximity to Torrey pines couldn't have been better (the complimentary shuttle to the golf course was also a plus) the bell desk at anytime was excellent. The fact that they committed to my request at the time of booking, the splendid views over the golf course, the comfort of the room, the easy of check-in. Loved the staff, they were all very friendly and SOO helpful. Love the comfort and size of rooms and overall ambiance of the room and hotel. Torney Pines is great. Amazing sunset at the pool. Huge room, comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Liked my stay. Good value for money. I really enjoyed the pleasantness in and around the facilities... The view of the golf course and ocean was incredible... Staff was very friendly, I would defienetly recommend and even go back. Beautiful room , very modern yet comfy !. It was located close to UCSD where my son is a student. The pool was large and there are plenty of chairs. I liked the cleanliness of the property and the family atmosphere. It is a warm and charrming place. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Bed linen high quality, beds very comfortable. I think everyone had to go to a coffee shop on the ground floor but I am not sure, there were no instructions. No instructions in the room to tell you anything. We did not find the refrigerator until the hour we were going to leave. If we had known where it was, we would have put the extra food in it and eaten it the next morning. I did not like that I had to pay 25.00 to park over night. The food was sub-par, the ice machine on the 4th floor was out of order, and valet was hit or miss. The hotel, albeit fantastic, is fairly overpriced compared to other top class hotels in which I've stayed before. At this price, surely free parking hould be a given. Didn't like the $15.95 daily charge to use hotels wifi. This is terrible. Prices for hotel restaurant also too pricey for selection and quality of food. Burger and turkey/avocado sandwich shouldn't cost $50 (plus tax and tip) anywhere even in LaJolla. Parking 30$ per day. No shower or bathroom near the pool. Only pay parking available, expensive at 25 per day. Late night food options limited. Room was cleaned late....sometimes I had to call at 3pm to ask for it to be cleaned. Hotel not walking distance to shopping or anything. I did not like the lobby presentation. Breakfast area in lobby did not have the presentation of a place for breakfast. Some room personnel appeared to be more in a hurry to finish the room than pay particular attention to details. Breakfast is expensive. Also, the hotel charges for the Internet!!! Internet should be included in the price of the room like most hotels. No shopping in the near vicinity.Business/Industrial like neighborhood. Bed. You would think at a nice hotel, the beds would be pillow top or better. They were hard and seemed old. Also didn't like the $50 for 2 nights of parking. Totally pleasant experience. Well managed and excellent staff effort to please. no free breakfast. the parking and the internet fee are a little steep. The food was not very good. No decent restaurant on site or even nearby. You are stuck with what they offer which is not much. No surrounding transport. I upgraded $30 a night for a view of the Ocean. I was given a corner room with a view of the resort next door. Without exaggeration, all I saw was men carrying golf clubs along with cleaning staff outside my balcony. I also did not like $25 for self parking and $30 for valet. Makes no sense?. Would have liked the room request considered. very special weekend. We were engaged on this weekend. The cleaning of the room. the room looked clean when we arrived but when we went to use the refrig there were left over Coke bottles. It took us until 2:00pm on Sat for our room to be cleaned when we had a maid 2 doors down and she saw us leave. I had to call 2 times to get someone to take care of the room. - hotel bar - no complementry WiFi. Room is empty Expensive breakfast Room service not open 24/24. Paying $25 to park at the hotel per night. the food was consistently cold no matter when ordered, room service or grille. so bad we couldnt eat it. went elsewhere for meals. $16 for internet?? Over the top. The gym equipment was outdated, in disrepair and rusted. The breakfast. secluded. Our room was way out in the boonies and took awhile to find with no one around to help. Limited cable, amenities. If you don't play Golf it's a bit boring area near. To be close to La Jolla village should be better. Under construction. Limited menu. Limited coffee shop. Housekeeping poor- in consistent and forgot things like towels and robes. The room had incredibly high hall noise into the room, which I have not experienced at a Hilton. I slept horribly due to all the noise. When I brought it up to staff they didn't even seemed concerned. First time I am considering moving my business from Hilton Honors to the Marriott. Allergy laden rooms with duck down bedding and pillows, poor parking access equipment; unaccomodating policies and inflexible staff. A "B-" hotel trying to pass itself off as an "A". No wi-fi and no complimentary bottle water as I have in other hotels. Hilton should lived up to the name! Disappointed!. You were nickeled and dimed for everything. No wifi service in room. Parking is $25 a night and they don't tell you up front! We were out all day on Saturday until 3:30 and they hadn't cleaned our room yet. They said, " Oh it's the weekend and people sleep late." Oh, come on.
