The staff was courteous & accommodating. I enjoyed having the free shuttle as well as free parking for my family who joined me from Baltimore for my granddaughter's graduation. Great access to airport & Yankee Stadium. All that I've come to expect from my consistent stays with the Marriott brand & more. Thanks for excellent hospitality!. For nyc area, this was relatively affordable. Pleasant walk through residential neighborhood to some excellent Greek, Italian, and Middle East restaurants. Navigating the subway system (for a couple of rookies) was made easier by the hotel- provided map.
all reviews » Hayley at reception was wonderfully. She gave very helpful answers to all my questions and printed directions for me to get where I wanted to go. The area (in Astoria) is safe and I felt perfectly at ease walking there at night. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The shuttle to the subway station was really convenient and it only took 20 minutes to get to Times Square by subway. Overall a great stay. The breakfast was great. Staff extremely friendly. Free transportation to and from the subway stop was awesome!. the shuttle to airport and subway station, the breakfast, the helpful staff especially the front desk people. They had a shuttle available, but who likes waiting around for one? Our window view was a concrete wall, eight feet away. By craning our necks we got a view of a corner of a parking lot and a dumpster. there was no hot tub. pool or other form of relaxation didn't know in advance thae the hotel was located in a neighborhood including postoffice, bakery, shops and eateries. Was worried about what access to dinner food upon arrival. When I called to requet pickup with the free shuttle, I was told the driver would be thre in 15 minutes. After 25 minutes, I called again and was told he was on his way. It was another 20 minutes before he every appeared. (The hotel is, at most, a 10 minute drive from LaGuardia.). Nothing!. bed was too soft. The noise from the highway across the street. A little mantainance on elevator, plumbing in our bathroom. Faucets in bathtub. Shuttle service responsiveness not being tuned in to weather conditions, knowledge off airport pick up areas and timing ( kept us waiting in cold windy conditions in airport hotel pick zone for an hour) room size too small for the price and location economics. Breakfast was poor Meal area was stuffy and small. Location not good for séniors .too far from downtown. Breakfast.
