Had a three night stay at The Gotham Hotel and feel I received good value for the money. The room was large, clean, and well-appointed; I liked the added touch of an assortment of books in the room for guests. The room had a comfortable king size bed with nice linens and an up-dated bathroom with an over-sized shower. My room was located on the back side of the hotel and was very quiet -- no street or hallway noise.The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to my needs -- house keeping w.

They also organised taxis - at a rate negotiated by the hotel which was cheaper than the regular taxi rate and stored our luggage (checkout time is the usual 12.00) and we weren't leaving New York until the evening. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious by New York standards and were very clean and modern. The hotel is ideally situated - near to 5th Avenue, Times Square and Central Park but not in a noisy area. Noisy all night - I could have moved after 2 nights but got used to it slightly. Mid foors would have been better. Also breakfast was very expensive so we used either of two nice cafes on either side of the hotel entrance instead. Lovely restaurant though inside. The room we had was quite dark, windows facing another wall. The breakfast was cold. Buffets don't work well unless you are very busy. Better to offer a couple cook to order choices. You could mention on your website you have blow dryers so we don.t waste luggage space bringing our own. The room overlooks the streets. It was extremely noisy!. Can't think of anything. N/A. There was not enough light in the room: a reading light on both sides of the bed and an overhead or large lampstand to light the entire room. The Marquee was not lit. Only one washcloth in bathroom. Housekeeping mix up. Bed didn't get made while we were out from 9AM till 4PM. A little overpriced. Wish I got a front facing room. The heater didn't work but it wasn't a big deal. price may vary tremendously depending on the dates you stay. from 300 to over 500 US$/night... for the same room.... (?). I was over charged at the end of my stay and the taxes killed the bill:(. Difficult to find. The items in the mini bar are ridiculously overpriced its insulting!!!!!!. Noisy. Breakfast was not worth the money. air conditioning did not cool well and was loud. The noisy airconditioner. Not a lot. No coffee unless you buy breakfast. Requests for wake up call both mornings never happened. Also spoke to the front desk about making a new reservation and they would email me a rate. Still hasn't happened. body towels were small. No newspaper and coffee readily available. The orange fruit was nice. No complete information when booking or previous to arrival ( restaurant closed) Bad practices: at 11,30 they charged my credit card without authorization. When i went to check out some minutes later I realized the charge was done. Sheets were not luxury like stated. They were very hard. Nothing really.
