When we checked in Angela at the front desk was so very helpful. Because we are in our 80's she was offering us a room on the first floor so we would not have to worry with elevators but we chose to be higher so we could use the balcony and watch the ocean. She let us go and look at both rooms and make our choice. Very helpful and kind. The cleaning ladies were also very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this time as well as one a few years ago. We will be back.

It has seperate kitchen, dinning area, and guest room. -I love that it has an indoor pool and and an outdoor pool with 4 hot tub, and 2 lazy river. One of the indoor pool was luke warm. We really enjoyed our stay at the Avista and if we return to Mrytle Beach that is where we would stay! We ate there plus had some of our food to go and everything was very good!. Wonderful place for a family wedding. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great place to relax and enjoy many things. The overall experience was very good. We have stayed at the Avista many times and plan to do so again. I loved my room and my friends did as well.. the kitchen was great.. but it was a little expensive.. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Facilities offered lots to keep little one entertained. The staff was very knowledge and friendly. The food and the view were both good. That it was on the beach. The staff was nice. The maids did a nice job. Where it was located there was little traffic and you were directly on the beach. nothing !!!. We ate on Monday night at your resturant and the special was prime rib. It was awful. All 3 of us got the same thing and all 3 pieces of meat were total gristle. Very little meat. We had a very nice waiter, Edward, so we did not complain but we did not eat any other meals there. A long ways from Iowa!. A power washer cranked up below our suite around midnight on Thursday night of our stay. The loud noise kept us awake for over an hour. It started again around 3:15 A.M. and us up. The desk attendant we spoke with, Tony, was rather rude and uncaring about the whole situation. The other desk attendant, whose name I did not get, seemed to be sympathetic to our situation, but he was not in charge, Tony was. We tried the restaurant on a Fri. Prime rib...It could not have been saltier. I tried mopping up the sauce with a napkin, it did not help. parking at check in one way in ,same way out got kind of messy. Parking in general. too close and cramp. Elevator was broken for maore than a day in parking deck. One elevator in the hotel was not working as well. long waits. Noticed a cockroach crawling across the floor during our last evening...very unsettling:(. No drinks in the drink machine. Went to another floor & it was sold out too. Towels were scratchy. The $100 in "taxes and fees". The advertised price was $359, and when I checked out the front desk added $100 in taxes and fees. It was a ridiculous amount considering we did not request anything while we were there, and never even had the maid clean until the day we left. The breakfast buffet was a very low quality as well. The parking garage was very small and dangerous to drive through. Mattress on bed it was way to soft. I did not sleep well. I did complain and never received a response. Cost is too HIGH. I did not like the fact that letsbookhotel.com did not release the total price which included 25% taxes. I was very shocked when I went to check in and my total was almost 200 dollars than what letsbookhotel.com posted when I purchased. The place was dirty tacky and smelled. The place needs a makeover its so run down and out dated. First of all the parking lot is horrible. I upgraded to a jacuzzi tub. The stopper was missing the oring and didn't fit. So needless to say it kept losing water to the point it was annoying. The pool seemed like it was closed seeing that the concession area never opened. So I go to myrtle beach a couple times a year and this was the first time here. I probably won't be returning or recommending this place. For the money wasn't worth it at all. The parking area was horrible, the room was incredibly small, did not have washer and dryer like advertised and the refrigerator was very old and falling apart. Staff and rooms outdated an not clean.
