As I had to vacate my home for renovations I was pretty tired the first night I checked in my room made a noise..they gladly moved me to a smaller room ( only room available) and discounted it. The following day they upgraded me to Villa # 55. from here on the stay was great............would have loved to have stayed longer. Staff were so amazing friendly effecient and open to any suggestions. Restaurant food was good and amnience made me feel like I could be in mexico.
all reviews » Still has the rock star vibe. We were lucky to enjoy a 'Live at the Sunset Marquis' summer concert by the pool during our stay. Magical! We took our children for breakfast to Mel's Diner on Sunset Av. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. From the moment we checked in, we were made to feel important. The staff was excellent! Rooms were fabulous, the property was beautiful, loved everything about our stay here!. Great vibe. Felt very Californian. Restaurant is good, and great setting. A real oasis in the midst of West Hollywood hubub. Suites are large and lush. Concierge was great, staff in general was friendly and helpful, perfectly located. Very quiet and relaxing in the middle of the noisy/busy LA. The garden, the restaurant. The style of the rooms. I recommend it but not the rooms with swimming pool view. My favorite hotel in the U.S. A bit aged already, but the vibe is unbeatable, the staff most friendly. The best hotel ever. This was my 3rd stay there and it was amazing as I remembered. Room was great, staff very friendly and obliging, particularly Hernaz(?). Everything. Staff, rooms, restaurant, athmosphere ... Amazing! Just book this hotel, you won't regret it. Excellent hotel on all counts Staff are great, location is great, two pools and nice restaurant. I did not like the regular rooms and bathrooms in the older section of the hotels..When I next stay ( I would even stay here for a break even though I live 3 blocks down the road) I will definitely only stay in a Villa. Some of the staff in the restaurant were a little curt. No coffee making facilities in the room, which is crazy. The usual note asking you not to renew your towels daily as the hotel is "eco aware" - then the turn down service turns on every light in the room (a couple of blown bulbs in mine) and the aircon to freeze - when the room is unoccupied for hours. Pure tokenism. Nothing to really complain about. wifi is not free. Big noise due to the ventilation of the swimming pool. Better not to look on the swimming pool. Impossibility to get the wifi in the room. Pool bar wasn't open both days of our stay. Thought breakfast was a bit expensive. The air conditioning was not good... We were not able to adjust the temperature by room, there is only one thermostat for the whole hotel. Nothing this place is perfect. The internet service was abysmal. Wifi worked occasionally. Ethernet cable did not work at all. My computer works fine and the 877 # I called agreed. My junior suite looked a bit tired and needed updating. The Air Conditioning wasn't working properly. I complained 3x and given a fan for the room. Hotel did offer a different room that was facing away from the sun. But I believed it was the AC system that needed updating. if your room faces the afternoon sun, your room (as mine did) feels like a sauna. Felt like I was staying in an overpriced motel then a luxury hotel. Noisy on floors above room. Expensive Room Service.
