my husband had surgery at St. Johns HOspital and the location was perfect. Wish there was an outdoor type place to sit and read or hatever during nice weather...pool? I needed an extra night and the staff was very accomodating and helpful. My husband ws not going t5o be released so it was a difficult situation. Good, clean, friendly and conventiently located hotel with a free shuttle, weekday, bus service to Santa Monica Pier/Beach and a resturant next door for breakfast, dinner or take-out.
all reviews » The staff was very friendly and most helpful when asked for recommendations. The location was great for our purposes of visiting the Getty Center and other museums in downtown LA. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The staff was very nice with us. It has free parking which is not usual so we really appreciated that. nice room. good free shuttle every hour down to the pier. ihop restaurant attached good for breakfast. the staff was great,called to say i was on Amtrak and would be checking in late, no problem. finally I could open a window in a hotel! Fee Wi-Fi + IHOP serve great breakfasts. convenient location, clean and comfortable beddings, friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable the desk clerk very friendly. - Very comfortable; clean; nice parking lot; very kind workers. Bus outside the door takes you to santa Monica downtown in ten mins and costs one dollar. It was very convenient for breakfast. Location is great to us since it's cross street to where we want to go. For general tourist, it's 5 mins drive from the beach and 3rd street shopping area. It's a bit far from the coast if you don't have a car. location was set back quite a bit. the use of fluresent lamps (blue white) is so cold and the worst light for skin and just feeling like the room colors are not pretty. A warmer lamp color would help!. A bit pricey. old carpet and wall paper, no breakfast. no comment. I was quoted $159 on the internet iwhen I checked out they charged me $169 why did they do that. We asked for a quiet room when booking but they gave us one on the very noisy santa Monica blvd intersection . After a 12 hour flight we didn't fancy that so we asked for a change and they found us a quiet room . Great but the only one left so we were lucky . AC in room is loud. Staff is kind of cold, not really saying much. They didn't mention any coupon for eating at IHOP as other comments mentioned. The room is a bit small. The air conditioner was very noisy and the room was too hot. Surprise extra charge at end of stay for room service .$30."0 is huge, told at end of stay after leavi g a large tip for room service. Unfair and uncalled for. Charges should be up front. A bit noisy at night but didn't stop me sleeping. Location was poor the courtesy bus finished at 8 pm so not able to use to go out and eat. Local I hop was poor. Way to far from Santa Monica Beach for our liking. The hotel is in need of updating. The carpet was dirty and worn and the mattress old and lumpy. The lighting in the room was poor. Thought it was very overpriced for what we got. Receptionist could not give driving directions to airport. No breakfast at all and Discount coupon provided for adjacent ihop, but good only for lunch or dinner - that is just wrong when the hotel itself does not offer any type of breakfast. Location - unattractive area and far from beachfront. Old, run down hotel; Rooms in need of renovation/rejuvenation; Too expensive. High room rate definitely not justified. As there are not that many hotels in the Santa Monica area, especially those not too far away from the Pier, beach and 3rd street promenade, this hotel can probably charge whatever they want since they know that people will pay and stay anyway which we did too.
