Loved the design and the modern look and feel. Room was fresh and clean and bed was comfortable. Location was excellent. Staff was helpful and remembered I asked for extra pillows on my reservation. Good place. The room was very nice, and the personnel courteous, helpful and efficient. The shuttle service is great! Excellent idea; keep it up, please. The room was very comfortable, clean and stylish. The staff were very responsive to my wishes and helpful.

Short walk to Market Square which is full of bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were accommodating considering the circumstances we endured - error in reservations. Staffs are good. Provide complimentary pickup / drop around downtown and snacks as well in the morning.. Loved the room with a romantic view. price. Vallet was a bit expensive at $28/overnight and slow to return car the next morning. -Not enough coffee sachets in the room. -The shower door jammed. Someone from the front desk came up late at night to assist me with this problem. They should have given me a discount for this inconvenience. There was a weird smell in the lobby (sewage, maybe). No coffee pot in room. Checkout was impersonal. Did not like the idea of receiving the final billing slipped under the door. It should be done face to face at the the front desk. Checkout is at 11:00AM yet TV cable was disconnected was cutoff while I was getting to leave at 8:30AM. Valet was a bit lax compared to Tue rest of the staff. only thing I wish it had had a tub instead of just a shower. no biggie though. There were no towels. Watch the taxes! I know it's not the hotel's fault but the initial price rockets once State, County, State and Sales taxes are added. They were under construction. Also they were out of all coffee except for decaf. When I called for towels and a fork and it took hours. Shower was made for people under 5'0" tall.would like to have a coffee machine in room and had trouble with lights turning on and off with switches. Lots of homeless people hanging around, although they didn't trouble us at all. When we checked in I asked for a map of the city and where the nearest street/area was for bars and restaurants and was told it was too far to walk - it turned out to be three blocks! We had a drink in the bar before heading out and the barman told us where to head to and it really wasn't much of a walk at all. Smell of drains as you first walk into the hotel but thankfully our room smelt fresh and was clean. There was a foul sewage odor the in lobby during our stay. The smell was so offensive we held our nose whenever we walked in the lobby. The quality of the hotel room is poor - very old and cheap fixtures. The owners need to invest in major renovations. It certainly does not warrant the price. By the looks of the rooms and hallways, it certainly confirms true that it is the oldest hotel in Houston. The location is not near to any shopping / restaurant areas. Hotel should add complimentary breakfast also. Provide drop/pickup facility up to some shopping points... Initially, the staffs didn't told us openly about the security deposit.. however later it was clarified after when we questioned.. Reservations stated I would have a mini bar and robes. There was nothing there. parking.
