We loved our corner room. The reviews said the hotel rooms were small so we expected a closet. It was perfect complete with a balcony we didn't expect. The staff was courteous and very efficient especially handling large teenage groups. The cleaning staff kept the floors immaculate. Elevators and card system worked very well. It exceeded our value for our money compared to the cost of other hotels in the area.
all reviews » The front desk clerk, Micah, made us feel really welcome upon our arrival. My daughter will be attending grad school at U. of H. next year, and he was very good at giving us info. on how to reach the university via the bus system. The hotel is very lucky to have Micah on the staff. The maintenance staff was also excellent and helped us very quickly when we experienced a power outage. This hotel is right at the edge of Waikiki, with an unobstructed view of Diamond Head and the ocean in that direction. It is great to be only footsteps away from quiet beaches, but also close to the center when you want to. Our room got upgraded to a penthouse suite with large balcony, so that made it all even better :). The Location, I was travelling by myself and it is so close to Waikiki Beach and walking distance. The hotel staff are more then happy to explain the bus and transport routes to find your way around the island, if you want to explore the not so touristy areas. The bar and pool area is quiet and comfortable. Very nice hotel, spacious rooms with coffee making facilities, fridge, safe and bathroom amenities including hair dryer. Lovely views of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head crater from the balcony. Great that the hotel offers free wifi in room and hotel public areas. Staff were mostly friendly and pleasant. Convenience. Prime location. I requested a view and the hotel obliged. Checked in early morning and the staff were very friendly. Needed an attendant and they personally checked to make sure that someone is available to assist. I would go back. I loved the fact that the staff was accommodating and worked hard to make our stay pleasant. Hotel doesn't have facilities for guests who must check-out at midday and awaiting for an evening transfer to the airport. Appetizers at the bar in the PM and pricey buffet in the AM. Room 819 needs a bathroom remodel. Sink, tub and shower from the 60's. Nothing. Restaurant open for breakfast buffet only. Ugly balcony. No room service. Staff could have been more gracious. Bathroom not renovated and rather dilapidated. Pool is MUCH smaller than it looks on photos. Wifi only in lobby. Paid for king received a standard ... No lanai, small, older bathroom. The hotel could get better after some renovation. We got noisy air con and running toilet in our rooms. The refrigerator didn't work. The air conditioner was very loud. It was a tiny box of a room. Tiny room, noisy, curtains when shut someone could see right into the bathroom from their balcony. Rooms were outdated and in need of redoing. Paint chipped, small, discoloured bathroom sinks, felt like a budget hotel. Hotel was more like hostel....rooms in need of repair this would be a zero star if not for the friendly staff ..be warned...not as pictured on the the website or "in the brochure"....thers budget friendly snd then there is roughing it... This is closer to camping indoors!. For the price we paid, we would have stayed in a much nicer hotel in Waikiki. Room was incorrect, when change to double bed, room was small and dirty. I did not like the way faculty handled the fact the overbooked there hotel the night we came in and wouldnt accomadate us we ended up having to pay for another room the room they gave us was a handicap room with two twin beds a/c didnt work we didnt fit in the beds electricity power outages didnt work either worst experience ever.
