  Upon arriving, we parked in the spot labeled Pineapple. Toby was working in his "man cave" and came out to greet us immediately. He showed us around the lower level facilities including the hoses to rinse off sand; the beach chairs, snorkel gear and coolers we could use for our stay (even sunscreen), and the outdoor shower and hot tub. Toby handed us over to Kirby :) and she showed us around the house - Toby and Kirby are superb hosts! Since they've lived in the area for decades, they have an intimate knowledge of the north short of Kauai, and of its residents -- chatting with them was a bit like being an insider! Toby's breakfasts are superb, and the home is beautiful, and supremely comfortable. The kitchen and living room were always open to guests and we took full advantage of it.   We loved our One Bedroom Suite at The Cliffs! It was very clean and very well equipped. The kitchen was perfectly equipped and they even supplied details like beach chairs and a cooler for picnics. We liked that the suite had two full bathrooms and two patios! It was very quiet to sleep and the location on a cliff with a great view of the ocean wa... what people say » s awesome, you can even watch whales from there!   I loved this place! I am used to air conditioning so I had to adapt to no air. Island breezes helped at night. Great location for activities shopping and food. - The view of the ocean from our window @ Shearwater was fabulous. The rooms were large and comfortable and it easily accomidated our family of 6.

  we were originally concerned about previous reviews of no air conditioning and noisy roosters. the only night that was uncomfortable was the first nite. we cranked up the fans and made sure everything was open and it was fine after that. The roosters were not a problem at all, barely heard them in the distance. the units were spacious and equip... what people say » ped with anything we could possibly need. parking was right at our door. our unit was in building 13 which backed up to a forested area, which made it - Our two-bedroom condo was comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great location-- the Princeville resort very close to Hanalei. The resort was actually nicer than I thought it would be. I would definitely come back.
