  Eureka Inn is being revitalized and it is a gem. Staff was excellent and the room was lovely. The old hotel itself is gorgeous and can't wait till it's finished. Hope lots of people choose it as it deserves to live on. It is just minutes from anywhere you want to go. Sorry we missed the decorated tree as it is a tall, live tree which had been brought in. Live jazz - This building is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and is amazing. It harkens back to a golden age of road travel in the 1920s. It's worth seeing the old growth redwood lobby and the Bristol Rose Cafe. It's central to the old town of Eureka and you can walk to restaurants and coffee shops within the district, which is great.

  We chose Red Lion due to its proximity to the marina for an early morning salmon fishing trip for my husband and because it was on the quieter northern end of town closer to Sequoia Park for my hiking. We truly appreciated the restaurant staff allowing my husband at 5:30 am to grab a quick bowl of cereal and fruit 1/2 hour prior to their opening (... what people say » so that he could meet his fishing trip time slot). - Great price and the manager on duty gave us an upgrade to a King bed. He was EXTREMELY hospitable and made us feel welcome and valued. Keep this guy around. The room was very spacious and the bed was soooo comfortable. Really enjoyed staying here as we just drove up from San Rafael along Hiway 1.

  The front desk guy was very friendly and helpful, and recommended several places to go in town. The room was very clean and updated, and spacious for me and my husband and 2 kids. The continental breakfast was very good and had plenty of food (waffle-maker with batter, muffins, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, plenty of beverages)... what people say » and we were pleased that we spent the little bit more for this place and saved on going out to breakfast. Check-in and check-out was easy. The loca - The rooms are very clean and cozy. I loved the bed! Nice and clean linen and lots of pillows. We stay 3 nights and everything was great. The staff was very nice, specially John at the front desk. I'll recommend this place 100%.

  Nice location, very close to the bayshore mall and an arcade. The zoo is also very close and the historical part of the town is barely a few minutes away. - The staff is very helpful and local oriented. Kind and courteous.   This was the best hotel I have stayed at on the West Coast to date! Easy to find from the airport and easy to get to my son's from there also. The breakfast food was very good. I appreciated the fact that they let me bring my grandkids to swim and allowed them to spend the night with me.
