I've traveled to Dubai on many occasions but have always stayed with family. This was the first time we chose to stay at a hotel, and I must say choosing Ocean View Hotel was a good decision. I read many reviews (mostly positive) before booking the Superior double room with sea-view (breakfast included), and I think all our expectations were perfectly met. The facilities in the hotel were just right for what we were looking for on our holiday. I've stayed at 5 star hotels that don't deserve to .
all reviews » I had a superb stay, from the check in at 1030 am, they already have my booking slip and have my room ready, while we are checking in they offered us towels to freshen up, juices and cookies. When we get inside the room, everything is what I have expected, the ocean view is serene. We had a room service and they delivered our food on the rack to keep it hot. My husband likes the gym so much. They offer you good towels in the gym and in the pool (no need to be carrying your towel from the room). I liked the service we were provided, for example, the hotel offers a free shuttle to their 5 star sister hotel at Jebai Ali for guests to enjoy the resort's private beach, swimming pools,shops, bars and recreational activities. There was a misunderstanding with the driver of the free shuttle which eventuated in my husband and I not being picked up to visit the hotel. The Ocean View hotel management apologized for the inconvenience and organised a private vehicle to take us to the resort. All s. For a four star hotel very pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent from the receptionist, concierge, room service staff, gym poolside staff and outdoor deck staff. The staff turned this hotel into a five star. The location is absalutely bang in the jbr. Metro is a 5-10 min walk away as well as the Marina, beach is a 2 min walk and of course jbr has the food ramging from around the worlds finest cuisine. Ocean view have free shuttle buses going to all major Malls and landmarks which always c. I finally found my new home in Dubai; I finished my meeting 10:30 am and there were four hours before check-in time; I headed towards the hotel and asked for an early check-in, the receptionist was very understanding and helpful... 11:30 I was in my room. Although construction is everywhere around JBR but you won't here anything thanks to good sound isolation. Breakfast is of a good variety and quality as well. Very kind staff whatever the facility you are using. Internet is free everywhere in . This hotel is fab and a true 10/10 - all staff are friendly and polite and go out of their way for you to have a pleasant stay. There are lots of little extras like the arrival drink with homemade cookies and cold cloths. All the staff know your name. The extra thought in the room and bathroom . The service is excellent and makes you feel special which is a good start to a friendly day. You could pay a lot more money for a lot less somewhere else. Fogo vivo restaurant is a must for a wonderfu. Great experience! The hotel staff were very exceptionally friendly, the breakfast was extensive and the room was great. The gym was also better than average. We were hesitant if the construction work would bother us, but it doesn't. Most of the JBR is under construction in any case. You can walk to the beach and to the Walk without problems. They are building a new island at the sea in front of the hotel so you can see that, but besides blinking lights from the trucks there it doesn't matter. . The best thing about this hotel, they offer you a free day use with a free shuttle bus ride (30 mnts) to their other bigger hotel (JA Palm tree court) with a privet beach and too many swimming pools and activities. Breakfast is great. Air condition in the room was making a high sound, we told the reception about it, and was fixed in the same day. Direct access to the JBR with its all restaurant. Everybody there smiles to you and would like to help you. I recommend it to anyone. The room was beautiful, decorated in a modern style, nice colors. The view from the window was amazing - indeed, Ocean View. The best thing was the cafeteria on the ground floor with amazing desserts working 24-hours. I had breakfast at 3:30am on my way to the airport. The hotel is located in an area nice to walk - not easy to find in Dubai. I regret that I stayed there less than 24 hours, if I visit Dubai next time, I will certainly choose this hotel. Friendliness of staff; cleanliness; the room was spacious and comfortable; the room matched the website pictures (this doesn't often happen so was really good to see); the cocktails were made from the proper base ingredients, not those horrible pre-mixed flavours; coloured lights around the pool at night made for a lovely atmosphere; easy and fast check-out; shuttle to the resort with the private beach; provision of towels to use by the pool/beach. Ocean View Hotel Dubai offers top location within 3-5 minutes walk to the beach, it is also located on JBR Walk among all cafes, shops and restaurants. On top of that, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus to all major shopping malls. Thus one can spend the day shopping in malls, evening on the beach and the night on the Walk among all travellers and young locals having a fun night out! I reccomed the hotel for those, who travel for leasure!. What a wonderful hotel. Right from the minute you enter the the hotel you are made to feel like royalty. The staff were very professional and very helpful. Valet parking Is available. The food was excellent. Located near the beach and only half an hour from the airport. The hotel is very good, next to the public beach and the marina walk where you can find many restaurants and bars. The hotel has a partnership with a beautiful resort in Jabel Ali (there is a shuttle every 2 hours) where you can access with no extra cost. The staff was very kind and supportive. When I checked in, my room was very humid as I believe someone had left the patio door open an therefore the A/C wasn't on. The hotel had excellent wi-fi too. we r couples stayed for one night, it very nice, comfort. the room is big and beautiful lighting. the hotel on Jumeirah Walk which is very attractive. many coffee shops and restaurants around you. very recommended hotel. A new hotel that's a little bit different to the others in the area. Standard rooms are quite big and have a decent view of the sea. The Girders Bar and the Brazilian restaurant are both decent places to eat and drink. Good standard that met our needs and was good value for money. The room had everything we needed and more eg a balcony. The cleaner was excellent and very helpful. The outside area around the pool was very pleasant. The construction around the hotel didn't ruin our experience, but disrupted the beauty of the view. The black and grey sight of the construction dulled the view of the Palm, and though we were on the 15th floor, the sound of the work going on could be heard if the balcony door was left open for fresh air. This is obviously no fault of the hotel, but hopefully the construction will be complete soon so that one wouldn't have much to write in this section :). Nothing. As I would love to come back again in Dubai in the same hotel. The only thing I had a issue with personally was the bed. Not as comftable as with other hotels a bit hard and stiff I felt for a four star. The cosy feeling you get when you jump into bed was missing. Beach access is a bit of a hassle, but they compensate it with complementary access to JA Resort. Other than that everything was excellent. The pool area doesn't get direct sunlight basically at all, as there are other skycrapers next to the hotel. If your main activity is to get sun at the pool, you should pick another hotel. Sad to say that, as otherwise this is an awesome hotel. Only half the pool gets direct sun in the afternoon, but the area where sun chairs are doesn't get sunlight at all during the day. Couple of staff working in Guest Relations were not that helpful. We were told by one of the concierge staff members that the metro closed at 11pm which meant we wouldn't be able to use it to get back from our 10pm Burj Khalifi 'At the top' booking. When we asked at the metro however, we were advised that the last train was at 12:20. We understand however that the concierge can't know everything and that what they told us was in good faith so it's not a major negative, maybe just something for them to be mindful of. Building works near hotel spoilt the view a little but not the hotels fault. Traffic can build up on the roads around the hotel so expect a traffic jam even at 2 in the morning!. None at all. Pool is very shallow..breakfast is pricey. The traffic is crazy, sometimes getting a taxi is a challenge, but this is applicable for any hotel in JBR/Marina... Construction interferes with the sea view, but that's pretty unavoidable in the area. None. Something funny happened wih us .. While we were checking out . The receptionist said that we have to pay extra charge of 50 dhs .. Reason is because they found a bottle of beer opened ; consumed and refilled with water !! Then the manager came and apologize from us. Nothing--it was all good. Currently set among a large building site of nearby facilities, which in a year will be superb but currently make it noisy and dusty. Traffic outside the hotel is heavy in the evening. Mini-bar a little pricey. Shame about all the building works taking place around the area. But in sure i will look fantastic once its all completed. The only thing I didn't like, which isn't much, was the shower water pressure and the fact that the plug was beneath the shower head, which meant that you step on it while in the shower causing the bath to keep filling up. Not a big deal at all, but something to mention. The other thing was the toast in the breakfast room service was always over cooked and wasn't very nice, again not a big issue though. I don't know what to say... It is not necessarily a family hotel: Snorkling wasn't allowed in the swimming pool, which made my son upset. Also my daughter wasn't allowed to use her swimming ring. My father wasn't allowed to use the gym, because his city shorts and shirt were not considered as sports clothes by personell. But people in the hotel bar were allowed to drink a lot and make noise quite late at night!. Nothing. Not much sun at the pool until late afternoon. The staff worked hard to move the line-up but perhaps an 'express check-out' system could be considered. Every thing for me was okay. We were on the 23rd floor (25th was the highest), and the noise from the hotel entertainment at the pool area on the third floor was unbelievably loud. Music could be heard word for word and until midnight. We were unable to sleep due to the noise. Was t good as we planned to get up early to sightsee. The building work ruined the view and the local area. Guy at reception was really unattentive and didnt even smile (mr ansakar or something). Got him for both checkin and checkout x(. This has been the proplem always off bocking .com the payment not including the city taxes and service Also the hotel little pit noisey coz off the construction going around,but i think this temperoray. The huge disadvantage is the construction. But taking into account the scale of these works, I doubt that any hotel nearby will feel comfortable from that point of view. And jbr is always overcrowded, noisy and busy. Traffic in the evening is annoying. In the end, all depends on what you are looking for. Nothing. Honestly can't think of anything. If you want flashy wow factor it's not for you. Took about 15 minutes to get me checked in. Don't think it was the hotel's fault though. The construction surrounding the hotel site, making the beach so close, but not quite there. I wish I had known I needed a reservation for the Brazilian restaurant. Smelled great but did not get to find out.... There is a bit of building work going on outside. But thats Dubai for you, and one of my pet hates about the city as a whole. Grill Bar can be smelled the minute you walk into the hotel reception. Not everyone is gonna like that. I only booked it for one night, should have stayed longer!. The fact I had to leave as my stay came to an end! ;(. I missed the daily shuttle bus to the city once. I thought the porters should have alerted me that the bus was ready especially since I was already at the reception lobby. the construction (noise/view) going on in front of the hotel (the "beach" construction) the bar by the pool in the evening (a bit of noise hopefully endind early. Location wasn't very close to much, the 2 major malls were lengthy drives away. building work in front of the hotel. Bistro ground floor Dinner Buffets was a dreadful experience but they do have a sister hotel nearby which is available for Ocean View guests to use and thoroughly enjoyed our Dinner Buffet. The view is somewhat spoiled by a building site over the road. The location is excellent once you get there but as its at the very end of JBR the traffic is terrible and it can take a long time to drive the last 1km to the hotel. I started getting the taxi to drop me off so I could walk the last 1km or so. Ok at this time of the year but not in the middle of summer. The building work which spoiled the view from our window. We were surprised by the two 10% charges payable at the end of the stay. This may be our fault as we hadn't prepared but the service charge needs to be clearly explained at the start of the hoilday. To British people a service charge is a gratuity and optional it seems this charge levied by the hotel is not optional.
