I have stayed in several of the apartments at 19 Baseina street now. Across the street is a shopping centre with a supermarket (like Coles/ Woolworths/ Safeway etc equivalent) in the bottom level. Combined with the kitchen and washing machine in each apartment this is a powerful boon to travelers who wish to pack light or are on a budget. The staff are friendly and speak English. They are able to provide directions and approximate walking times to anywhere you wish to go in Kiev. I have stayed .
all reviews » Fast, english speaking staff....apartments are located in differant locations, but driver took us to our apartment saving a taxi fare...apartment was very spacious and modern...short walk to metro....would definitely use again!. The Stuff was very helpful and well english speaking. The house is very close to city center and in a good location. The apartment exterior is old russian type, ugly, but the room is well furnished. Wi-fi works well. Spacious, luxury apartment, equipped with everything you need, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with massage bathtub and even washing machine. Great location in the city center. We liked and enjoyed everything. The apartment was ideal. Great location, clean, excellent internet, nice bed, small kitchen. Staff were friendly and English speaking. In terms of value in Kiev, you will be doing very well to beat this place. Great staff (as usual) and very good price-quality ratio. The transfer from/to the airport is at a good rate for Kiev. I think it's much better for this money than any hotel in Kiev. All the appliances worked well and the bathroom was totally luxurious, even had a jacuzzi. The jakuzi does not work. The building staircase might frighteen you, but OK. None. This appartment was a little noisy unlike the others I know in the same building. The room was sort of sparse in terms of furniture and aesthetic. I think it was designed to look chic and modern but ended up feeling sort of cold and not so cozy. The crummy lift and the outer door to the apartment that needs some technique in opening. just a couple of very minor dislikes, The very small lift, internal corridors could do with updating, no hot water for a few hours on our last day. The long check-in process at 14.00 - come to make a check-in later. A detail, but please think about installing some black-out curtains. In summertime, too much light comes in the room in the early morning. elevator was broken and the telephone in the apartments didn't work. The bed was not so good this time (unlike the other apartments I had with them). One common problem: no blinds and no thick curtain so there is a lot of light early in the morning. The flat needs much more attention to details - nobody cares about broken things, non-working light bulbs etc. We booked for 4 people but had only one set of bed linen, lucky a driver brought more very quickly. We had problems with our car. We did not have enough information about municipal parking and it was very expensive for 3 days. Hotel doesn't have own parking places. May be it is better for guests without car. In nice bathroom toilet hasn't enough space and it is not comfortable. I was stuck at midnight in front of the door of the building for an hour, the input code had not been given. These are all refurbished apartments and thus all different. our bathroom needed to be refurbished again (#16 in Baseina street 23). The "spa" was falling apart (broken) and so was the toilet seat. Poor building. The apartment was sold to me including spa bath (and confirmed) but no spa. 4 lights doesn´t work. The bath was old and the drain from the douche bloqued. The staff was very unfriendly and not helpful. I had to pay the fully price althrough no spa. Sheet cover was dirty Satellite was not working. 1.Limited internet (only 30 mb/per day can be used accordingly their policy) 2. Only 1 towel per person was provided 3. The staff didn't inform that jacuzzi doesn't work, but jacuzzi was mentioned as one of benefits for that apartment So it could be cheaper for such service and facilities. hall ways poor,on the 5floor not good for carring bads, homeless man sleeping in sacks of garbbage in the hall way. No warm water for the entire duration of my stay. you will always be a stranger around this part of the world. Don't expect any friends, unless you are prepared to pay for the checks, but those friendships end as soon as you leave the country. Do it once, but not twice!.
