Perched on a hill overlooking Windermere town centre is the Windermere Hotel. Built in 1847 the hotel offers rooms with en suite bathrooms, and a restaurant. Many rooms offer stunning view over Lake Windermere or the town centre. All feature TVs, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities, whilst free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. Enjoy a drink from the modern Piano Lounge Bar on the outdoor patio overlooking the quiet gardens. The Boardroom offers a TV, board games and cards. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and serves English cuisine. The many fantastic cafes and restaurants in Windermere are just a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel was in an ideal location in Windermere. We have just purchased a boat at the marina, and this was ideal for us. The hotel was excellent, food excellent, facilities excellent, and staff extremely helpful. We were greeted on the front desk by a gentleman called Giles, extremely helpful, brilliant first class service. We will definately stay again, and certainly recommend to friends and family.

The location was hood for our needs the food was good although we only had breakfast and the little dealings we had with staff was good. We booked this hotel last minute for a one stay. It was comfortable, and overlooked Windermere village. Location to town centre Nice food Clean & tidy. Location breakfast. The station was near by. The hotel exterior looked good. old world charm above the Victorian resort of Windemere. Nothing!. Noise from main road - depending where room is. Evening entertainment could be more interactive with the audience. The singer was texting on her mobile while singing!!!. The headboard came off the wall. Bar not open late enough. Poor breakfast- buffet table was nearly vleared with people still arriving and 25 mins to go. Sausage was like cardboard. The shower was not very good and the water flow was not constant It went slow then fast which was a bit of a pain. Other than that the room was fine. unreserved car park spaces were 1m shorter than car. No wifi. Tried unsuccessfully to get sandwich in bar despite all day availability advertised. Hot water pressure very poor at peak times. No drying facitities. all ok not too bad. The shower was very poor. Room was cramped and only suitable for an overnight stay, lift whilst it is new compared to building was too small to allow 2 people and any large luggage. The room was ok but a little dated and the beds weren't that comfy but is personal choice but over all wasn't bad . The breakfast was also served not hot it was warm but nice but was served excellent by your staff and iam sure if we had mentioned the heat of food they would have changed it. Room was a little small and could have felt brighter. Perhaps the decor could be updated. Paying for reserved parking Bathroom plumbing not good water pressure on sink basin useless as was the shower. We had to use the bath not Eco Friendly(room 36 ). furnishing a bit dilapidated. I had to open through 4 doors to get to my corner room. There was no hot water on my first day. Breakfast was horrible. Hot water and cold water provided on 2 separate taps very inconvenient . If that steak had been any tougher, Usain Bolt would have been running on it. Bad choice in general. The dreary room we were first allocated to in ground floor of the "annex" with a view of parked cars. We accepted alternative based on view and brightness of room however the pungent smell of bleach, lumpy mattress, tired furniture, dirty kettle, creaking floorboards (all of them!) did not make for a pleasant stay. the list could go on further.
