The hotelier was very friendly, assisted with luggage and was very prompt with breakfast.Nice Hotel in a good location, only 5 minute walk to the harbour, cooked breakfast, would stay there again!. Local parking an issue. Parking was a little difficult. Stairs would be a problem for disabled people or the elderly. The way the hotel is plummed means your can hear when other people are using the shower or flushing the toilet but its not anything you can't get over.Limited secure parking. Alot of road noise, could do with double glazing!!. The hot breakfast was average. Shower tiling/grouting needs attention. Fridge not cold. The room was not very clean, both ontop and inside the wardrobe there was a lot of dust and it obviously hadn't been cleaned in a long while. other furniture also had dust ontop, upon closer insepction. The Palms Hotel appeared to have an issue with hot water supply. The room was quite small for what we paid, the internet description was a little misleading.Rooms dated but clean. Strange teddies on beds.

Travelling information

From m5 Exeter to a38, then follow signs for Torquay a380. At Newton Abbot you will reach Penn Inn roundabout;take the second exit signposted Torquay a380. At the next roundabout, go straight over A3022.Do not turn right (continuation of a380). Follow a3022 into Torquay. At sixth set of lights get into right hand lane a3022 (signposted Seafront, harbour, Paignton)and follow signs to the harbour. At the clock tower by the harbour turn left;the hotel is 300 yards up the hill on the left hand side past the traffic lights.
