We stayed in the new Silver Suite - it was extremely comfortable with a most beautiful view across the water. Needless to say, but the food was magnificently presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were exceptionally courteous and delightfully friendly. You felt you were staying with friends. The owner has an excellent `hands on` style of management which manifests itself in a very well run, friendly organisation. We certainly hope to visit again.

We had originally booked for two nights but had to leave after just one night due to family reasons - hotel staff were very kind in this regard. Excellent breakfast. This is a fabulous English Country Retreat,excellent food,fine wines,experienced staff and lots of peace and quiet in a beautiful location. Unchanged for years.A place to really get away from it all-No Mobile Phone signal....We love it. This is a delightful place to stay with friendly staff and first rate food. Overlooking the lake, our cottage suite was lovely with a superb bathroom containing both good-sized bath and powerful shower. We shall be back!. Hotel was very clean and the staff and service were excellent. Food was lovely. We were upgraded to a larger room without having to ask. Wonderful food and delicious wine. A minor point but the in-room tea/coffee cups were rather small. This did not detract from a marvellous experience. Far too chintzy for my taste. Decor is very old fashioned and the place is in need of a major refurb. Scrupulously clean though and the staff gave the impression of being very dedicated. Clock not working in our room. Waiter asked who was having what at dinner rather than making note at time of order. My starter was not what I had ordered. No fresh mint tea. Hotel definitely needs a revamp as many areas rather tired and dated. Our room (Cottage) very comfortable and spacious but reflected those criticisms. Some of the non English staff did not always understand our questions - leading to some confusion!. The staff appeear toget a bit muddled sometimes. However they were very pleasant. Nothing. Allocation of dining room tables needs to be clearer. Missing light bulb in bathroom and poor quality shower (low pressure and unreliable controls). Accommodation detached from the hotel. No a la carte. The room was noisy. (Grace) sounded like it was near the central heating boilers. View also out onto large recycle bins. Main house probably much better. The food. Standards have gone down, portions have got smaller and prices have increased.
