The Hotel is within walking distance of the centre of the town, but far enough out to be quiet. I enjoyed my first stay there so much, Ive revisited 3 years in a row. Although I havent made use of all the facilities, they do have their own laundry, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Ive always found the staff polite, friendly and helpful. Nice hotel in a fabulous position ,2 great beaches and the town a strole away. Friendly reception, free parking,had room 119 a twin with sea view to front and side , spacious well decorated with modern bathroom for £71 and a full English thrown in , me im not complaining. CHEERS KILBERNIE FOR A GREAT STAY !.
all reviews » The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cosy. I liked the added touch of the hair drier and alarm clock. I liked the fact that it had a swimming pool and would have used had it not been raining. I liked the fact that there was free wi-fi. Lots of towels laid out which was useful. We have stayed at the Kilbirnie many times over about 38 years and each time have enjoyed ourselves both as a family and now as a couple, Staff (many have always been there) are very courteous and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend this Hotel for accomadation and food . 5 Star. The front desk ladies were very helpful and inviting. They gave me print out of bus timings to st ives/ penzance. Wide spread of full english breakfast served. Very near to sea/ beach and rail station and bus stand. value for money, friendly staff, seafront location, indoor pool, private car parking, reasonably clean, food excellent and good service at breakfast, close to beaches, bars etc. Very friendly staff. The room and hotel were much better than I expected, especially considering the cost. Secure car park. Close enough to town. Good location. It is a good location, plenty of parking, on the plus side though while only available in reception Internet acess was free. Food at berakfast was reasonable. A pleasant & welcoming receptionist who explained everything clearly& was very helpful. It's within easy access to everything. off street parking location away from busy town centre (Newquay) Breakfast nice and (efficient) Room was fine. I also kept rolling into the middle. There was poor reception on the TV. The parking was a bit tight and more so behind the hotel. While there was free wi-fi it was only on the ground floor. Only one problem this visit, TV was not working but this was very quickly changed so not really a problem. (Just proved the Hotel is so ready to please.). You have to book your table well in advance before dinner and room rate was little on the higher side. poor shower in bathroom. Decor quite old and tired in places, especially in bar area. Hotwater to shower in 2nd floor room a bit of a trickle. Noise from a pump ? kept both of us awake at first but repaired quickly. dusty room especially carpets. Walls of the room are a little thin . The 1 thing I did not like was the really thin walls, had a mum and son that would have the tv on full blast all night and even when they went breakfast tv would be left on. nothing to dislike. Televisions was old should be flat screen and very few channels only 5 and they were repeated not even free view.not good for the price we paid. Nothing springs to mind!. very loud squeaking aluminium door catching on step on first entry. fire doors let to slam at all hours .dining room had more tables than needed so it felt a bit cramped. size of room. Small. Shower wasnt good leaked on floor. Thought the dinners were pricey. WiFi only at the reception/bar area. Tv poor picture, shower poor pressure. The shower over the bath didn't work. The toilet was a problem to flush properly And there is a large building site right next door . The room we were in overlooked it and they worked 7.30 in the morning. floor in room not been vacuumed, toe nail clippings on the floor next to the bed. The breakfast wasn't great in edible bacon. The thinness of the walls. Noisy road. Went without breakfast as manic rush as soon as restaurant opened. Needs sorting out!. Group of girls making too much noise at 3.30 in morning. Didn't change bedlinen for four nights that we have been there.Also didn't make beds properly.Underneath the beds not cleaned they were papers and tissues we found it out when my slippers went underneath the bed Toilets needs bleaching.Also they were moulds under the bed.Please hoover before customers comes.Windows not opened it was stuffing. having to pay £70 extra when i booked 2 adults,1 child but said need to put another bed in room could not move. The internet revolution has not yet stretched past the reception area, though acess was free. The shower was pathetic, very low pressure and the water just about warm enough to use, excuse, lots of people from a coach tour getting up early and using all the water up. Not much of an excuse for a hotel that runs on coach tours. The shower didn't work. Neither did remote control for tv. Walls are paper thin. Hotel needs revamping. Tired looking hotel A bit drab inside Evening meal (not much choice - a bit basic). The bathroom layout was not the best. Shower which was from a mixer tap was a waste of time, they need to update to a pumped or electric shower. No real storage for any toiletries. They bath was good but not the shower all in all very poor and will let the hotel down untill something is done. I could not sustain internet connection another bug bear in this time and age. The rooms depressing decoration & very dated! Shower didn't work in both mine & my friends room unless you wanted a cold shower & not much water came out! Wouldn't stay again!. -inattentive staff (staff serving breakfast and receptionists were unfriendly, moreover manager/owner was not apologetic for the issues described below) -poor room conditions (falling ceiling, faulty shower, no remote control for tv, poor coffee/tea facilities -would not recommend to my friends. The "Thermal Spa" was Cold and the same temperature as the Swimming Pool. The Sauna is Chargeable at £5. Shower pressure on Floor 2 was awful and took forever to warm up. No way to control the Radiators so had to dry off with soaking wet Towels. Owners and family had no respect for customers told off children not helpful bathroom window had no covering therefore when light was on people could be seen every noise from other customers could be heard . Foreign coach passengers took over hotel had to listen to music etc that couldnt be understood. Beds not changed all 7 days we were there and bathroom was dirty. beds poor car parking dreadful noise at night in hotel food.
