My stay at the Slieve Donard Hotel was in all a pleasure. The food was fantastic as was the service. The way the swimming pool has been set up couldnt be better with the view over looking the ocean. I was totaly relaxed the whole time i was at the Slieve Donard Hotel. I was very impressed with the check in procedure as it took no time at all. The staff were very polite and looked as if they were enjoying their work.They couldn't do enough for us.

The spa facilities are fantastic, and the food in the Percy French restaurant was lovely.Excellent service, polite staff - treated like royalty. No bottles of water with the coffee in the room.very hot rooms. The hotel bar was a bit dated.The tv in the room had a poor channel selection, internet access was not free, it was a bit noisy throughout the night due to rowdy wedding guests. breakfast could be improved bread was hard could make sure everthing is refreshed before customers have breakfast even if breafast is at latest time. It is slightly stuffy and formal (I.E. no children in the restaurantafter 8.30pm), and has an older clientele. But these are not complaintsas such, and in any event, I would stay again. It is very expensive atthe hotel's bars. got terrible dinner at resturaunt at entrance and treated very badly. Price of Drink. Price of drinks!. As this weekend was a celebration of a birthday we asked for two wine glasses and ice to be brought to our room as we wished to open a bottle of champagne given to us as a present. I was told this would be granted but the cost would be £5. This was declined by us as we thought it was an incredible price for empty glasses and ice. Wouldn't you agree? This was very disappointing. A bit noisy at night due to the numerous weddings. Not as much for younger people i.e. some sort of game room in actual hotel. Lack of comfortable chairs to sit on in Bedroom. Breakfast - the breads soda etc had been sitting for far to long shouldhave been changed. One of the rooms I booked was not ready for 3 O'Clock check in. We were told we would be informed when it was ready but that didn't happen. I thought £5 was very steep for ice. It was mentioned in the welcome pack that ice was available but not the price!!!. sticky area on bedroom carpet. Excessive noise from generator running from 3.00pm to 7.30pm. Poor quality of the breakfast.hotel was very warm at night, had to sleep with window open. On the day that we arrived, discovered that the pool and jacuzzi were not in operation due to a heating fault. These were part of the reason that we picked this hotel, luckily the next day they were back in use. It still meant that we didn't get full use of the facilities that we had paid for.
