I read a few negative reviews about Pestana London on letsbookhotel.com and on TripAdvisor. I'm not one for writing reviews but decided I should do this one. This hotel was a completely different experience from the negative reviews. The Deluxe king room I stayed in on the 9th floor was perfect and had a lovely view over Battersea park just like I requested. The staff was very helpful and even when I needed to do some ironing, all I did was call reception and an ironing board and pressing iron .
all reviews » It was value for money, bed rooms spacious clean and very comfortable beds the lovely white leather coutch in room added elegance and comfort.Breakfast was good luckily we paid for breakfast on chek in it was 12.50 per person. I took it positively the distance from the tube sloan square about 15 mnt fast walk half hour slow but it is a good thing we need excersise i considered it my GYm work out for the morning to walk with bags to the station surely we need this walk thus everything was just g. A really friendly hotel, was very impressed by the staff. Within half hour of arriving, we were in one of the best lit swimming pools I've ever been in and thoroughly enjoyed being able to have a sauna afterwards. After just a few hours in the hotel, it felt like we'd been there for days- a good time warp! Our request for a view of Battersea Power Station was honoured so we were well happy with that. Though the cooked brekkie the next morning was a bit cold, we were very impressed with the inst. All the staff I came in contact with were very friendly and helpful, the reception staff gave me directions and a map to attractions. Whatever we needed they were much obliged to deliver great service to us. The spa is very relaxing and again the staff were very accommodating to fit me in before I checked out. The hotel is also very conveniently located about a 10 minute taxi ride to/from London Victoria Coach Station and 5 minute walk from Chelsea Bridge and it is also located right on the. We stayed at a superior room, which was very nice, with a view to battersea power plant (it's illuminated at nights, what a view!) The breakfast was also very convincing - worth 12.5 pounds (book it in advance). The location is good: although not central, but there is a bus stop in 3 minutes, and you can easily get to picadilly line. The battersea park nearby is also a definite plus. The service is just what you can expect in 4 star hotel. And they checked in us in 11 am, which is quite nice!. Modern, clean and well-furbished hotel set in a quiet location opposite a large park. Well placed for visiting the Chelsea and Pimlico area for shops and restaurants. Either a 15 minute walk or easy couple of stops on the bus. Hotel room was very comfortable with a BIG bed, great bathroom and quiet. Small swimming pool and relaxation area was welcome. Dinner was very good and, for a 4 star hotel, very good value. The old powerstation seen on Pink Floyd's album "Animals" , the beautiful Battersea park and and the river Thames. I stayed for 4 nights and definetly will be back. Perfect location in the city center of London. Chelsea is just a ten minute walk away. Buses outside the hotel going directly to top places in London. This is definitely a worthwhile hotel experience for London. There are so many bad places around for same prices. Great place, great location and great value for money. This is basically an hotel built as part of an expensive waterfront develpment of luxury apartments.Rooms properly 4 star standard, good quality fittings, huge bed, quiet air- con. All as shown and fresh and clean. Small convenience store a few metres from the front door very useful. I like the location as it overlooks Battersea power station so a good view over London from the rooms to the back of the hotel which you dont always get in a city centre hotel. There are no tubes nearby but the 44 bus is right outside the front door which takes you to Victoria in 10 minutes. The rooms were lovely and spacious, clean with everything you needed and large open windows over the river. The bathroom was also very good with a separate bath and shower and the hotel facilities spa/gym/sauna/pool were also a nice touch the staff in the facilities were also very attentive. Next time in London I would certainly book again. The cost is fair and the location is good since there is near by bus station you can go to sloan square where there are shops in 5 min and contiue to harrods in 10 min and also can go to oxford st in 15 to 20 min. I didn't spend too much time at the hotel as I only had an overnight stay but I found it a great place to stay in a fab central location - the staff were so helpful and friendly and the room was excellent. Location was great. Received value for money. My daughter loved the pool and spa facilities. Parking was convenient and reasonably priced for London. Having Battersea Park across the road is a real plus. If you are used to taking the tube in London, the nearest tube station is at Sloane square which is about 15mins walk away. Thought the food was a touch overpriced for what it was. SPA: very small and inconvenient dressing room, also spa facilities were off for some reason, and staff members could not help us. We didn't have slippers in our room, although we were told we should. Nothing. Paying for Internet - it should be free in a hotel of this caliber. The gym was very small - for a "spa" hotel I expected more. Location is a bit far from the nearest tube station (10-15 mins walk to Sloane Square), although there is frequent bus service from outside the hotel to the tube, and in good weather it is a pleasant walk across the river. Nearest tube is 10-15 minutes walk, although through a very pleasant area. Also if you don't wnat to wlak there is a very frequent bus (we didn't wait more than 3 minutes) that goes to Sloane Square for the tube or on into central London. Bath has no shower attachment but there is a seperate shower in the bathroom. The breakfast was terrible.. And the wifi connection wasn't the best, kept getting error messages. Leaving! We did not know in advance the spa pool was free so did not have swimsuits. Staff sometimes seemed confused on questions about the area and the business nook lacked printer ink, and having to pay for room wireless internet. the swimming pool close very early,. So many TVs in bar showing football!. Thought wi-Fi and breakfast were too expensive. It would have been nice to be able to book a Spa session but it was booked solidi before e even arrived. Roller blind on the outside of the bathroom window???. Nothing really. I thnik they need to pay more attention to room cleaning. My stay was not long enough to take advantage of the Spa. Paying for wi-fi in room whilst was free in public areas (one or the other please!) I felt that description of how close the hotel to was Oxford st. Was a little deceptive-be prepared to get taxis rather than walk. Service was slow in the bar area. We were given someone else's bill though it was rectified when we pointed it out. The steam room wasn't hot at all but this was rectified while we were there so, no big quibbles. The rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I know some people will consider this hotel 'out of the way' - about a 15 minutes walk to Sloane Square (& the nearest tube), but I stayed here on business and enjoyed the walk to Westminster and back everyday (wouldn't say the same if it had been raining, I'm sure!). The hotel is well serviced by the bus service, which will take you to Sloane Square in a few minutes if you want to go further a field. Well worth being slightly away from all the main attractions. We cannot fault the hotel. Only single downside was unavailability of Taxis at 09:15 & the so called road light was ignored. Then the little racket of being solicited by some bearded weirdo who wanted £20 to take me to St James Square - not the money, just didn't like the racket. There was nothing that we did not like about Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa. We were asked if we wanted breakfast on arrival but chose to see how hungry we felt the next morning. Unfortunately, because of this lack of decision we had to pay more for breakfast the next day than we would have done originally. WiFi is 15 GBP per day - plan this if you need it. The pool in the spa is nice, but the saunas are from the 1990's. I did think that for the amount of guests you could have staying there that the pool was on the small size but it was a very clean and relaxing area. No minibar. WiFi for free only in a little lobby. Our toilet was faulty and although we reported it, an engineer did not arrive at our door to fix it until 9am on the Sunday when we were about to check out!. nothing!. If I am being picky there wasn't enough lighting in the bathroom and a heated towel rail or something to warm the bathroom up would have been nice. Parking at 30gbp seemed excessive. We used Battersea Park over Sunday night. poor design of Spa changing rooms - when one person in loo whole changing room is locked to anyone else! Hope new tube station happens - it's quite a walk to Sloane Square. No tube stations nearby.
