hotel spotless, rooms had more than everything you needed, food delicious and plentiful, staff very helpful, price very cheap for what you got. overall a very nice hotel and highly recommended for staying in very close proximity to Gatwick Airport/Railway. Everything was great.Cole to airport and bus service,even at night.Room spacious and so cosy!!!!. Very comfortable.The staff was very good.The hotel is very close to the airport, even on foot.

I liked ease of getting there, room service and friendly staff. The breakfast was very good, with lots of choice, but at £13.50 a head you'd expect it to be. The staff were very helpful and pleasant people. Airconditioning controls are confusing, the hotel is not listed as themercure in the hotel coach pick-up areas (still the old name). Parking was unsatisfactory, although this may have been due to the recent collapse of XL Airlines. Air conditioning in room did not work.You need to "refresh" your hotel rooms .. Hotel Bar food prices were so expensive 6.50 for a glass of wine and 11.50 for a chicken burger would not eat there again. Food was exceptionally expensive, could hardly believe just how expensive. Pool was shut. overall it's ok!. The hotel is not listed at the airport bus terminal as being on the courtesy bus route so I had to take a Taxi. I was annoyed to find that the hotel is indeed on the bus route but that the hotel name has recently changed and no-one has updated the list at the airport, very stupid!!!!!. The swimming pool closed when we were there - we arrived at 3pm - I had hoped it would be open to use during the duration of our stay eg evening dip and an early few laps!. The service in the resturant was very slow and lackluster. Expensive too as they have a captive audience. no hairdryer in the room. And while having a dinner, a not very good selection of red wine offered.I was disappointed to have to pay £10 extra to use the hotel car park, and I thought that the food and drink in the hotel restaurant was overpriced. Common areas need refurbishment. i did ot like the room that was given to me, i booked for a double bed and yet i was given twin bed, and it was right next the lift very nosy i can hear the machinery noise, i wasnt able to sleep. Having pre paid for the stay on my families behalf, they were thencharged again by the hotel!. The decor in this hotel is rather dated. I stay in a lot of Mercure / Sofitel hotels and this did not match their normal standard. Very expensive car parking. Must validate exit ticket each time you drive out.
