Smart at iQ, Edinburg was a very pleasant surprise for us. Perfectly located: less than 20 min walk to the castle and to the train station, bus stop for the airport right at the corner, restaurants and shops around. The room (studio) was quite big and all equipment you need if you want to prepare something in the house or if you need to wash something etc. – like “at home”. A perfect location for someone who wants to visit and move all day and have a proper and comfortable place to sleep. The .
all reviews » The apartment complex itself is very secure. The bedroom was clean, bright and well set out given the limited space. The bathroom, whilst also small had everything you need and unlike many higher rated accommodation I've stayed in hot water was available at all times and at a constant temp. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially to the many foreign visitors there for the festival. All was excellent. Room has really nice bed, very nice bathroom and shower facilities, a lot of storage spaces to put your things in. All furniture is very new and tidy. Room was very clean. Kitchen has enough space and all cooking equipment (even has a fridge). There is Tesco nearby. And about 15-20 min walk to city centre. Very good value for money. The hotel is centrally located, not far from all Edinburgh attractions. The studio was very small but clean, and it contained all necessary facilities. It was overpriced, however this was the busiest time of the year due to Edinburgh festival taking place and long weekend. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends. + perfect location (about 20 minutes to the center on foot, 3 different bus stops and railway station are in the neighborhood, Tesco Express was round the corner) + friendly staff at reception + standard room was suitable for 2 people + refrigerator + price. We liked many things about Smart IQ but some of the equipment in the rooms needs to be replaced if it goes missing, e.g. no teaspoons but when we mentioned this the staff told us they get pinched. I think part of their cost of business is to replace them :). Secure, quiet and within a few blocks walking distance of the castle and city centre. Room serviced by a friendly staff who were at the entry 24 hrs. Shops close by for food and supplies. Good if you are travelling by train or bus. Buildings have lifts. The staff were great and very helpful. The room had everything we needed and it was a great location for the Edinburgh fringe and probably one of the cheapest you can get! It is very convenient to Haymarket Rail Station, short walk to Grassmark, the Castle and The Royal Mile. Princess Street is just about a five or ten minute walk away. Excellent layout for a small space. Everything we could possibly need for our 2 night stay was there. Bed was lovely and comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. Plenty of room to hang clothes etc. Very happy with the room. The rooms were a good size, the place was really clean, only a 10 min walk from Royal Mile/Prince's Street, great self-catering facilities with a Saninsbury and Tesco nearby, plenty of bus routes nearby. so close to festival events and lots of history to soak up on the way. facilities such as laundry room and recreation area in hotel were excellent. i would recommend this hotel to all age groups. I went for the Fringe Theatre Festival and the Hotel was about a 15 - 20 minute walk to all the main venues!. the staff was very nice and ready to help with anything, the kitchen helped, so we could eat what we wanted, the room had everything we needed, close to town centre and royal mile. good facilities for the cost - the standard room was a good size with en-suite and kitchenette. Parking nearby was a bit risky and the unit was a bit hard to approach because of the one way street (even with a GPS). Some traffic noise and the room did get quite hot so we had to have the window wide open, but that's better than being cold and not being able to heat up!!! Wi-fi wasn't free. The double-pull/push door system takes some getting used to and the bed was rather uncomfortable. no towel to dry dishes, our room was oriented east, so if the sun was shinning, it was hot inside and we couldn't open the window fully. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear people walking in the corridors at night. Lack of instructions for microwave / combi oven meant we couldn't use it. No toasting facility. The room was uncomfortably hot on the Saturday night!. letsbookhotel.com did not inform us this was student accommodation, this was not a problem but it would of been nice to no before we turned up. No TV, wifi in room (both available at reception), no fan in room, no individual light near bed - all these are really minor. should have better provision of vending machines (drinks and snacks). It will be great if they provide free WiFi as well. NOISE from outside reception every night till the early hours, no TV, roasting hot at night no aircon or a fan had to sleep wiv window open hence noise and we were on the 5th floor so i would hate to be the person on the 1st floor above the reception !!!. I have nothing to complain about!. No parking available. Nothing. It was really loud in the hallway because the doors shut really loudly which was annoying in the morning. Nothing was a problem for me. Some people would not like the lack of a lift and the twenty minute walk to the city centre. Very noisy. we could hear doors slamming constantly. The bed was crammed between two walls so my 6 foot 5 partner struggled a bit. ( Granted that is very tall) and also made it hard for getting in and out of. Checkin lineup long when I arrived but it was better when I came back later. Shower too small with the sink directly in front of shower door, which limited entrance/exit. no breakfast anonym the house door difficult to open the reception far to the rooms in an other house. - Check-in took a while. - WiFi is outrageously expensive!. Room very small ...but excellent for 1 or 2 nights ...good for 3 to 4 nights ...not so good for a week plus ... There was no TV in the room. The tiny shower cubicle. Although the lights were working, the power was not turned on in the kitchen area. we liked everything about this plaec. The rooms were small and the suites were not suitable for same sex sharing. Clearer guidance of the room types would have made booking easier. Rooms were noisy because of the shutting doors in corridors.noise ttansferance through floors Key fob did not work brilliantly on entrance doors to blocks.
