The Nicolson Apartments are in the centre of Edinburgh's Old Town, 700 metres from the Royal Mile. Edinburgh Castle and the shops of Princes Street are less than a mile from the building.
The large apartments have living/seating areas, modern bathrooms and kitchen areas. Crockery and cutlery are supplied, and cots and high chairs are available on request.
Each apartment also has a tiled, modern bathroom. Bed linen and soft, fluffy towels are provided.

Very comfortable rooms, great people.During our holidays we had an accident. We accidentally caused a hole in the plasterboard wall. The maintainer came immediately and he did not ruin our holidays, as he came to repair it the day we left. The most impressive was that they realised that it was an accident and they didn't charge us more. The apartments are positioned in a very interesting and enjoyable area. The apartment was lovely and good value for money. I have stayed in the St Giles apartments before - this one is to a similar standard but slightly smaller and a little further to walk to but was cheaper.all reviews »
Excellent - really comfortable, clean everything we wanted and more - ha washing machine, iron, there were complimentary drinks in the fridge. Staff on the contact number were very helpful highly recommended. We were visiting the University and the location was perfect for that. We were able to keep costs down by self catering and having your own lounge instead of just a bedroom was very relaxing.apartment was close to amenities but not on top of the hustle and bustle.there were plenty of places to eat and drink closeby,leaving our suitcases at the owners shop was very convenient too. The apartment was absolutely spotless! The bed was really comfortable and the kitchen had everything, although a frying pan would have been great!. Asolutely fantastic. Lovely apartment, me and my partner are a young couple and it was completely perfect for what we wanted :). Central Location. Plenty of space in the apartment. Royal Mile within walking distance - less than 10 minutes. This apartment was in a great location and excatly what were were looking for over our weekend break. The ammenities were perfect for a group of friends travelling together, would recommend to anyone.The apartment was well furnished, very clean and spacious. There was ample heating for a cold February day and the fittings were of a high standard. The freedom of being able to get something to eat and whilst our stay was very short, we could have availed of washing machine, ironing board etc.There are a lot of stairs to the apartment. This was not a problem to us but something people should be made aware of. When the wind was blowing in the evening, the sash windows were very rattley but apart from that it was very good.The lock on the door needed fixing. Only minor point was that there was only 1 saucepan and 1 frying pan, so they could do with a few more pans. Otherwise no compaints at all.i don't like for they don't provide wifi or any internet access!!!. No double glazing! There seemed to be a water pressure issue as on someoccasions we had to fill the toilet cistern by hand with the kettlebecause it wouldn't fill quickly enough.There was a noisy air conditioning unit (or some such thing) outside the bedroom window which switched on and off all night. Can be a bit noisy at night. the noise when folk left the pub next door. the shower was not very powerful but at least it was hot. To be fair the street is noisy at night as it is a throughfare for students back to halls therefore shouts and singing ect. So if you are noise sensitive do not stay here. The parking facilities are terrible, you have to move your car every 4hrs to a different location and pay £6 each time.something should be sorted for tourists. Office was half a mile from the unit. we had to wait until 4:00 to get in and had no place to leave our baggage. Heating of the main room didnt work as single glazed windows the room is constantly cold. lack of double glazing. The hot water in the kitchen was virtually non-existent, but since there was a dishwasher, it wasn't too big of an issue. see above. washer did not work inconsistently, toilet ran continually but easily fixed (reported to maintenance). We had the apartment until 12 noon on the day of our departure and I would feel that no one else should enter the accommodation until that time has passed. When my family returned to pick up bags, we could not gain access because the cleaning staff had locked us out. We had passports and our own currency left in the apartment and I was extremely unhappy about this invasion of our security.

Nicolson Apartments do not have an office on site at the apartments' location. To check in, you must go to the office at 375 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1PW. This office is open from 09:30 until 19:00.
If you are arriving after 19:00, you must contact Nicolson Apartments to make other arrangements.
On check-in you must present the card used to make the booking along with a corresponding driving licence or passport. If you require late key collection, or someone else will be collecting the keys, copies of these must be received prior to the arrival date.
