clean, comfortable, characterful and in a great location. central location, very clean, very well equipped. The underfloor heating in the bathroom, the tvs and the size of the bed. the layout of the apartment. central location and very quiet. Lots of room for 3 girls!. very clean, spacious and comfortable. good location. The location in the old town means that it get really noisy at night, on the three nights we were there at about midnight until 02.00/03.00 there were noisy drunk people outside the apartment. They were shouting and hollering at the top of their voices and it went on and on, it was tiresome. However the location being right next to royal mile meant that all the sights were readily available.

My apartment (Castle 3/1, first floor) in particular was also large, good looking and furnished in a nice way. Bed linen was ok. The apartment of my friends (Castle 3/2, first floor) was on the other hand very poor for space, furniture (three chairs in an apartment for 4 people; sofa was dirty; the dining room had no space to open the table), and for available pots and pans.Central Location, Among the history and vibrancy. the fact that i had living room and kitchen. Location and heritage. see above. Price was good, beautiful stone work, lots of square footage, location and flat screen TV were awesome. location. having to traipse to Queen St, or wherever, to get the the keys. Apartment was up 60 stone stairs and 1 of us was on crutches which made it a bit difficult. Although they tried to move us to a lower apartment, none were available so it was very hard going up and down. The fact there is no lift should be brought to peoples attention. there was slight confusion over the booking and i seemed to get different information every time i rang up. There are leather sofas in the lounge I personally do not like these as I find them uncomfortable.old duvets, stains etc/. no lifts, you have to lug your luggage up a steep, narrow, spiral staircase.Bed had a hair on it and boiler in room was very noisy. This was not a good location for a single woman and I did not feel safe returning to the apartment at night.The alarm in the hall way outside the apartment was continuously beeping. The heater in the living room didn't work, there were knobs missing. We specified we had a a baby with us and chose the apartment because they offered washer/ dryers. We were not initially provided with the cot we requested and we were only given a washing machine with no dryer or drying rack. Although this was provided we had to return to the office to request one. The steep spiral staircase made this quite a difficult place for us due to pushchair.Travelling with large suitcases can be a problem as the apartments are in very small tenements with very little space and very steep narrow winding stairs. Also some items in the apartment were worse for wear. collecting the keys from an agency 20 minutes walk away with baggage from the airport, having asked to be dropped off by the taxi at the apartments. I phoned the agency twice re. the location and the person on the other end of the phone was short and sounded annoyed, when we got to the agency we took time checking all the details, one memberof staff was thorough while the other hurried.Cleaning of the bathroom was fairly approximate, the moquette was not clean (lots of hairs on the floor). We had to ask for further pots (which were promply delivered) since the once which were available were not enough for cooking for 4 people. Basic, Noisy, Inconvenient key pick up point. the condition of some electric devices,it wasn't so clean,no closet. Noisy old place. Appliances haphazardly worked. Furnishings in poor state.Heaters did not work, windows leaked freezing cold air and noise from the street, cold leather sofa, no pots and pans, sewage smell from kitchen, no extra blankets for two of us out of three, door latch was not trustworthy, bathtub was dangerous to step in and out of, mirror in the bathroom was for a person 7 feet tall. Should be warning that you must lift luggage up a round stone stair case. Being asked to produce my passport for identification reasons. We settled for a copy of my driving license, however there had been no mention of photographic identification on the confirmation form. The cafe providing breakfast was closed on the second morning, hence no brakfast which had been paid for.hard beds, poor plumbing, difficult stairs, difficult check in(separate location) and difficult to find door to apartment.

The apartments offer 3-star accommodation at great-value rates, with all the freedom and flexibility of your own apartment in the centre of Edinburgh’s old town.

Please note that the apartments are located in historical buildings, and that there is no lift. Due to the layout of the city, guests may be required to climb a number of steps to reach their accommodation Guests who have mobility problems are kindly asked to inform us of this when booking.

Complimentary luggage storage is available prior to check-in. Storage is also available on the day of departure at an additional cost.

The apartments do not have their own parking facilities. Guests can park at one of the nearby NCP public car parks, which offer secure parking at an additional cost, with daily charges applying.

The apartments’ excellent location provides easy access to everything that this magnificent city has to offer, including many of the city’s major festival venues. Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, Princes Street and the famous Scottish Parliament building are just some of the attractions that are on your doorstep.

Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping district, is just a very short walk away. Princes Street also offers galleries and museums to explore, including the National Gallery of Scotland, which houses art from Renaissance to Post-impressionist periods. Wander through Princes Street gardens, and visit the various surrounding bars and restaurants.

The Palace of Holyrood House is also within easy walking distance.

Edinburgh Waverley train station is just a short stroll away, meaning the apartments are conveniently located for your arrival.

Other attractions in the surrounding area include Greyfriars Bobby, the Walter Scot Monument, John Knox House, Dynamic Earth and Edinburgh Dungeons.

The fully fitted kitchens are well equipped with everything you need in order to be your own chef, including cooking utensils, toasters and ovens.

Every apartment has a comfortable lounge with a TV and DVD player. Many apartments have additional futon beds for extra guests.

Apartments are serviced on a weekly basis, with fresh linen and towels provided once a week. Additional servicing can be arranged at extra cost.

Because of the apartments’ central location in the heart of Edinburgh, there can be some noise.

The apartments are located in old historic buildings and there are no lifts. Due to the layout of the city, guests may be required to climb a number of steps to reach their accommodation.

Travelling information

From Edinburgh Airport to Queen Street:
- Exit Edinburgh Airport on to East Field Road.
- Follow signs for the city centre/ Edinburgh zoo.
- Go through Eastfield Road and turn left onto the A8.
- Enter into Edinburgh carrying on Glasgow Road (A8).
- Go through the Drumbrae roundabout and onto Saint John's Road (A8).
- This will become Corstorphine Road (A8).
- Turn right on the Roseburn Terrace (A8).
- Carry onto West Coates, which becomes Haymarket Terrace (A8).
- Turn left into Haymarket (A8) and carry on West Maitland Street.
- This becomes Shandwick Place (A8) which becomes Princes Street.
- Turn left onto South Charlotte Street (A90) which becomes Charlotte Square and then North Charlotte Street.
- Turn right onto Albyn Place, and turn left into Queen Street.
- We are at number 6 Queen Street (opposite end) on the right-hand side, next to the Jam House.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport for approximately 20 GBP or take the air link bus for 5 GBP return.

The airport bus departs every 15 minutes. Guests must disembark at the Waverly Bridge terminus (opposite Waverly Station). Reception and key collection is approximately a 7 to 10-minute walk from here.
