All the rooms weren't the same which was really good mad it more individual. The pool was a nice extra and allowed you to relax. The bar/lounge area was very nicely laid out and there were board games you could play in a group.Staff were very polite,helpful & friendly. Reception staff always willing to help. The hotel looked like it had been improved and was very nicely done. Breakfast was very good.

The buffet breakfast was delicious with a varied choice for all palates and dietary requirements. Lounge area with open coal fire was very relaxing. Spa facilities were excellent with friendly helpful staff. Arrived 20 minutes early unable to checkin although three couples arrived after me did check in. Checkin person on arrival day seemed uninterested. Never experienced poor staff beforem Checkin staff following day completely different and the rest of the staff exceptional but it put me off a litlle. We have stayed here many times and have always found staff to be very pleasant and attentive.Great to see a hotel busy and enough staff to cope.Very relaxed atmosphere .Delighted to see some of the same staff when we return.You deserve to be busy. I liked mostly everything. Room was comfortable. Big Bathroom. Quiet and peacful. Food was lovely. Breakfast was super, great selection to choose from. Lovely lady showed us to our table with a very warm welcome. Location was perfect also. The pool, sauna, steam room and spa bath. The restaurant was excellent, seating areas were comfortable and felt like luxury. The size of the room was ideal for us as a couple. Really surprised with how spacious the bathroom was. we enjoyed the style of the room and the hotel, we also enjoyed the spa facillities. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. It has a very relaxed and comforting feel. The location and staff very good as was breakfast. The smoke from the fire in the bar seemed to travel through to the corridor where the rooms were located. On the Sunday morning there was a shortage of breakfast items due to the vast numbers of guests who stayed over night. The hotel should have catered for the numbers. Maybe a second serving station should be added at weekends. the rooms were quickly tidied on day two and you weren't given the option of having clean towels they were just hung back up to dry. Was not sure that the arrangement on the steam room was entirely safe as the steam was directed straight out from below one of the seats and onto the back of the legs of whoever happened to be sitting there at that moment. I use the sauna/steam room at my local gym and the steam is directed onto the wall at floor level and dispersed evenly without coming into contact with bare flesh. perhaps fair to say a huge variation on the standard of room you get for the same price paid. Only a couple of minor things. Hairdryer didn't reach to the mirror so couldn't see what I was doing. Main course at dinner time was lovely, just not enough potatoes to fill you up. Had to have a sweet! Delicious!. The price of some of the facials as I would have loved one but not for £60. Only 1 hot tub. I didn't stay long enough !. Bar staff never there, had to ring bell for service. Floors in corridors and on stairs very creaky, disturbed by movements of other guests. The hotel gets "lively" on a Saturday night especially with events and weddings being offered so, if its a quiet relaxing retreat you are looking for, this may not be it. The hotel is an older property which although it is very nicely maintained has been added on to over the years. This causes the rooms to be laid out kind of strangely. Beyond that it is a great place. Aqua gym class taking the whole swimming pool. Lunch menu not inspiring and burger just ok. Bathroom was large with just a small wall heater which did not heat the room hence the bathroom was always freezing cold, the floor was also very slippery, the bed was very uncomfortable and creaky. The bar area was very small and hard to get served as there appeared to be never anyone serving and then when staff did turned up everyone went to the bar to try to get served all at 1 time. Nothing. Everything was very good, no complaints at all. Pool and surrounding facilities are a bit tired...could be doing with some upgrading and modernsation. room a bit small. ladies changing room floor in spa was soaking and dirty. the room we had bit tired datedneeds bit of tlc. Bar is not well equiped to be in Whisky District and barman not to skilled in Whisky . No whisky glasses just tumblers. Nothing. Certain public areas could do with a freshen up, but generally okay. Nice location within Drymen but Drymen is not close enough to the loch or any walks. Pair of pants (not ours) was dangling from our shower rail, which we found quite funny! Housekeeping need to look upwards from now on! Should mention that the hotel promptly performed a pant removal operation successfully. bed was pretty uncomfortble and noisy. Nothing negative to say. Bar prices I thought were rather expensive. Could not open the window for fresh air. On Thursday morning 3.15am till 4.30am, I had to sit between the bedroom wall and the opened bedroom door to get fresh air from the corridor. I realized that the window was recently painted and the dried paint seized the frame. Wi-Fi advertised but very poor connection in room. Also, could hear every foot step from room above. This is ok during the day, but not at 6:30am!. Nithing. Nothing. Room 42 had poor tv reception. I liked everything. I have no complaints. the frozen chips with my nice steak. Menu was a bit dull. Nothing jumped out, so didn't eat there. The room we were in 14 was very noisy due to a room above also TV going on and off. The hotel is quite tired and the rooms need updating but they were clean.
