The rooms were clean and spacious, lovely big bed, lots of tea, coffee available in the room including bottled water. Staff were excellent friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Very welcoming hosts. The breakfast was very good we didn't use the restaurant for evening meals however the Paragon restaurant did appear busy in the evening!. We stayed for one night and had a very pleasnt stay. The hotel is comfortable and well equipped & the food in the dining room, selected from a cavery menu (all 3 courses) was plentiful & well cooked. We only stayed one night as we were touring around but would happily stay there again.
all reviews » The fact that the hotels caters for all needs, there is no need to go out at night which was good as the weather was not great when we were there, I would certainly return to this hotel no complaints what so ever. Had a great time, the food especially nice and staff excellent. friendly staff and very helpful, Good location for all the things we needed, rooms in very good condition and very clean, Food in hotel was very good value and very good but the fish pie that I had needed some bread with it as there was not enough and I did tell the staff. sea view-breakfast choices-buffet lunch-evening bar meals-swimming pool-friendly staff- easy free parking-casino on site-bingo below-location to theatre and centre-transport available nearby-choice of back or front rooms. In the main the total stay was enjoyable.Staff friendly,reception desk very helpful giving information on flights out of IoM due to very bad weather.Also info about hotel at the airport,if we needed to stay over night. The efficiency of the reception staff when called upon to deal with a false fire alarm and for the information given when the ferry did not run due to bad weather. The friendly restaurant staff and the swimming pool. Staff excellent especially dining room also cleanliness of room and contort. We didn't use leisure facilities as there with 3 friends on a special birthday break . Deffinately would come again n recommend to fiends. the room the bathroom the bed the curtains the sea view and balcony the free car parking the fast lifts the solid building all rooms the same biscuits and hot chocolate with the tea tray the breakfast was excellent. food was very good the choice was good as the menu changed each day the deluxe room was spaciuse the staff from cleaner to waiter& reception would listen &arrange for things to be done for you. Hospitality, it was very quiet in the hotel, The Harp music in the barand the breakfast on the last day at 6 ó clock in the morning Breakfast, the english and the continental was excellent. Friendly staff, location, clean and just what we wanted for a weekend away. The casino on site was great and the staff patient with drunken guests.I would come back to this hotel. No air conditioning in the room, we were in a seafront room and there was just no air at night which made it impossible to sleep because of the extreme heat at the time. The exterior is looking tired, especially the rear of the building when seen from car park - it looks quite shabby. We had a room with a sea view which would have been enhanced had the windows been clean!. back rooms a little noisy at night and warm. Service in the restaurant at breakfast,one waitress every morning seem to have the hump, getting tea,coffee and toast was an effort also slow on clearing used plates away removing only half. Had better service in McDonalds. Evening meal fine. Having to leave a warm hotel due to the false fire alarm. Nothing. the non sea-view rooms dinner menu choice. the outside of the building realy could put a traveler off as first impressions are a bit ugly 60s style. The price appointment at the time of the reservation was over 100 pounds less than we have to pay at the end. Expensive breakfast, we should have booked our food at the same time as our rooms. I assumed the price would have been the same. The room furniture was a bit old and the patio doors did not lock. View from bedroom (I overlooked carpark). When balcony doors open people from next door and other floors smoking came wafting into our room. Flat roof was littered with tab ends. Rooms without a sea-view could be over extractor fans, at the rear of the hotel. For this reason I try to book a sea-view when possible. Larger selection of Freeview channels? Logging onto the internet could be easier but this is being upgraded shortly . Restaurant service was confusing and slow. Balcony doors in room need to be more sound proofed Fire alarm and evacuation at 3am for only about 1/2 hour. Bar was sometimes quite busy and sharing the barman with the resturant incurred some waiting.Could do with more four seater tables in bar area. stayed in back of hotel during the heatwave. security windows unable to circulate air making the room like an oven. really needs updated very worn looking and no air con large window in room only opened a little. only moan was the one shower in one of the 3 rooms not very good receptionist not as welcoming as rest of staff although she wasn't rude just didn't seem very happy !. Lack of a quiet lounge area to sit and read other than the bar. Some of the areas down stairs were a bit tired i.e. carpets but other than that everything was fine. Not enough towels to service the rooms. We were going a wedding at mid day all the towels had been removed for laundering from our room and not replaced. I had to go looking for a towel, one was found for us to share. Room a bit dated needed a freshern up ie net curtains needed washing/ replacing plus a coat paint and carpet needed shampooing. Room 239. A pint of Guinness at £4.85, that wasn't particularly good, in the casino. The food was far too expensive, and breakfast was not included in the price as we assumed on booking. Bathroom was a bit cramped. Bar was way too expensive.. Toilet far too close to the bath especially for someone 6ft 2!. No Wi Fi in rooms and could not connect in bar area. Basic tv package. The main entrance was like a tradesman's entrance :-(. Queuing for breakfast - need more staff to work on clearing tables - not good waiting 15mins for a table. restaurant staff all had sour faces. not one must have enjoyed their job. slow to clear tables & to bring tea, coffee, toast etc. Vending machine of tabacco didn't work. Rooms small with limited drawer space. The weather, it rained. But know that is not your fault. Some of the parts of the hotel were rather tatty and could do with updating. very loud music disturbed us in our room until midnight, we think the sound should have bee reduced at 11.00pm.This happened on 28/6/2013. the constant noise of the generators outside the room at night ticking over very noisy.
