We had a very enjoyable stay. We were attending a wedding. The location was excellent.The organisation and meal was superb. We had a very pleasant overnight stay in a beautiful room and enjoyed a delicious breakfast before we left. Excellent staff who were very pleasant and greeted you from the minute you arrived. Stayed at a busy time when there was a wedding in the Hotel and the service was superb.

It would be useful if reception had a train and bus timetable available for use rather than sending them across the road or to the internet to access. couldn't afford to stay longer !!. Atmosphere in the restauant was a bit flat - bistro looked better crack, was probably cheaper and if I'd known about it beforehand - we would have gone there. Breakfast was disappointing - bit dried up!. The only down side to the room was the noise level from other parts ofthe building was clearly audible. Room service was very expensive. The restaurant area and bedrooms were extremely warm. Unfortunately there was absolutely no hot water when we used the bathroom in the morning. After choosing a superior room, a cold shower was not what we expected! At reception we were told we should have phoned the front desk and they would have given us another room but we really would not have wanted to pack up and start again on the morning of our departure. we had booked into a superior room but were given a standard room. We were to arrive at 10:00 but wasn't allowed to check in until 14:00. There was a dreadful stench in our room, emanating from the bathroom. When I reported it nothing was done, no apology given, not even air freshener! Unfortunately the smell was so bad it ruined our stay in an otherwise excellent facility.A little souless - known as the oldest Inn in N. Ireland, but it is somewhat manufactured - upvc windows, etc. We had three people staying in the room but cups, coffee, bathroom products were left for only two people. I asked at reception twice for another cup, etc. but nothing materialised, which was surprising and disappointing. The staff were all very pleasent but they did seem overbusy, especially at breakfast.Due to function in hotel, the only place to sit with a drink was alsoserving food all the time. No automatic cleaning of room. This was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. It seriously interfered with what would otherwise have been an enjoyable stay.

Each of the 32 bedrooms are completely individual in character and are named instead of numbered. Many are grand, charming rooms with wood panelling and four-poster beds hung with sumptuous fabrics. All rooms contain the facilities listed in "room descriptions", and have double beds, local area and tourist information and hotel services information. En suite bathrooms have baths and power showers. Disabled facilities are available on request. Ground floor rooms can be arranged as required. Bedrooms have either village facing views, or views overlooking Crawfordsburn Country Park to the rear of the hotel.

Travelling information

From Belfast by car:
- Follows signs for Bangor and the City Airport to join the A2.
- You will bypass the town of Holywood and The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.
- At the Ballyrobert Vauxhall car showroom, turn left onto the B20 for Crawfordsburn.
- Follow the road into the village. The Old Inn is in the centre of the village with a car park adjacent.

By bus:
- Take a bus to Bangor, calling at the village of Crawrfordsburn. The bus will stop directly outside The Old Inn.
