It was the first time we had travelled with a young baby and staff were very supportive initially over the telephone then in person, providing a travel cot in the room and a high chair at meal times. The food was reasonably priced and very good, and the rooms were modern and quiet. I would certainly stay again. The room was lovely and comfortable.It had everything we needed and more for example a dvd player and a modern feel with a plasma screen. The breakfast was great there were a variety of food and very well organised.

We stayed at the Regency for two nights and booked a suite- although the hotel is undergoing refurbishment this is now mainly confined to the reception areas. We stayed in the Orchard suite and I can honestly say it was stunning with flat screen tv in both living room and bedroom.There is also a safe and a fridge which are nice little touches. Breakfast was superb cooked individually for you. The friendly staff considering the refurbishment they worked hard and made the stay a fantastic one even though the problems and frustrations they must have had! The food was really good and the newly refurbished rooms are really modern it is already an excellent place to stay but will be fantastic once finished!!. we were going to the races but it was cancelled because of bad rain sadly.we enjoyed the hotel and the food was nice.The staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. The hotel was clean and fresh and it was easy to see a lot of work had been completed on it.Food was outstanding and service by staff was great. Possibly a greater choice of vegetarian/vegan food.The hotel was getting renovated but to be fair it did not disrupt our stay and there were signs all over the place apologising. There was nothing I did not like, although a swimming pool would hav been nice but you cant have it all for the very reasonable price we paid!. The hotel was undergoing major refurbishment causing some inconvenience. Having read some of the previous reviews regarding the showers I was unsure what to expect. In fact I found the showers/ water pressure to be excellent and really good quality bath sheets. The only thing that let it down was the water pressure. I wanted a relaxing bath before going out but the water trickled out of the taps. The shower was fine.Heating did not work in the room due to outage of 1 of their pumps or fans. The water pressure of shower was poor and the water was not hot enough on the sunday morning , this however would not stop us from using the hotel again.The showerr pressure was very low. Sorry - really nice hotel but had building work going on in the hotel that started early morning. Otherwise would have scored higher.Housekeeping, my room was not hoovered for 4 days. One day the bin in my room was not emptied either. Other peoples hair in the bathroom when I first arrived. Poor housekeeping standards with regards to my bedroom. I think management should be checking this. Extensive renovations under way. There was refurbishment taking place which we were not aware of, however this did not affect our stay. The hotel was quite hard to find (a map would be helpful on website). It took me over half an hour to get back into the hotel as the night porter was in the kitchen making food for the next days wedding. Could not hear the hotel phone or the door, or the window. reception bar and dining areas are cold to the eye. under some construction / renovation work. The water pressure of the showers was appalling so we did not shower at the hotel. The restaurant did not have enough staff and the menu did not offer any vegetarian option until I enquired.hotel was being re furbished so thought we were walking into a building site but must say once in the room it was pleasant. Cold shower; Did not accept my Solo card so had to go into Cheltenham to draw out some money and return to pay. As with other guests' comments, the water pressure and heat of water through the shower was pathetic - they need to address this ongoing problem. Reception staff had little knowledge of the local area and couldn't provide any maps. Overall it was worth the money. Cold showers and baths - this is a frequent (habitual) problem there and all guests hate it. And the new showers only trickle water - really very bad for a hotel that is newly refurbished, the plumbing needs further attention.meal selection. Did not enjoy Breakfast, complete with cooked fly on plate - however theplate exchanged when Waiter was called.the beds where very uncomfortable and the room was not well presented the hotel is in the process of renovation. Tv not working, broken plug on trouser press,had to wiggle wires to make it work,extracter fan in bathroom full of fluff/dust.There was not enough staff on duty in the bars with a wedding going on. Poor condition and decor...rooms dark and dreary...no atmosphere. I thought that what I saw and read on the website was extremely misleading, the hotel was not very clean. I was dissapointed with it.
